Cozze pizza oven being used to cook pizza by friends at a garden party.
Pizza Oven Buyer's Guide: Which is Best For You?
21st March 2025
There’s nothing like a homemade pizza. You can go to a restaurant on the Amalfi Coast and order a finely made plate of it with all the local fixings like truffles, olive oil and fresh basil, but it will pale in comparison to one made by your fair hands. Bite into it, and you can taste the effort and fun poured into the pizza, enjoyed around the patio table with your loved ones as conversation fills the air. These moments can only be achieved with a pizza oven, and don’t think it’s all it can do – these ovens provide a unique cooking option beyond just pizza. There’s a lot more to learn if you’re considering buying a pizza oven for your garden space. In this guide, we’ll take you through everything you need to consider, Having a hard time knowing the difference between electric and gas pizza ovens? We have the answers right here for you. Explore our range of pizza ovens today, and cook up restaurant-style pizza in two minutes flat.   What to Consider When Buying a Pizza Oven What Will You Cook In Your Pizza Oven? The most important question when buying anything is: will you get enough use out of it to warrant getting it? You may think that while pizza is amazing, you’re not going to be having it so often as to have a pizza oven. However, our ovens are more versatile than you think. Other meals can be whipped up all inside the oven, from fish and steaks to vegetables and even baked goods like bread. You could even turn the temperature down and slow-cook lamb, where the controlled fire will give it a smoked flavour that you cannot get from a conventional oven. What Else You Need to Operate Your Pizza Oven With the right equipment alongside your pizza oven, operating it will be a breeze. To find detailed instructions on how to use your Cozze pizza oven, consult our guide. Here is a checklist of what you need to use your pizza oven to the fullest: Pizza Stone – on top of which the pizza is baked (if one isn’t provided with their pizza oven – Cozze pizza ovens include a pizza stone as standard) Pizza Peel or Paddle – to lift and turn the pizza Thermometer – to monitor temperature Oven Door – to cover the fire and retain heat (appliable only to electric pizza ovens – Cozze electric pizza ovens include an oven door as standard) Cooking rack – to cool the pizza once out of the oven Grill Brush – to clean pizza oven At Kettler, we bundle many of the accessories you need with our pizza ovens, such as a ready-to-use pizza stone. Our electric and gas pizza ovens come equipped with a built-in thermometer (the former also has digital heat control), as well as a front door to cover the heat and fire inside, just like a master pizzaiolo. If you wish to match your oven with equally premium-feeling equipment such as pizza paddles or cast iron pans, browse our range of pizza oven accessories.   Where Will You Put and Store Your Pizza Oven? It’s one thing to want a pizza oven, but finding the right space for it is essential. Luckily, our Cozze pizza ovens are designed to be used anywhere in the garden, no matter how much space you have. Their sleek, letterbox-like design not only looks almost as fantastic as the food inside, but is compact enough to fit comfortable on a small outdoor kitchen table or a wheeled stand, allowing for easy portability. Cozze’s outdoor kitchen units make getting everything you need simple, providing a complete, all-in-one set. When you’re not using the pizza oven, proper storage is imperative to keep it in top condition. The lightweight and size-efficient construction of our ovens make it simple to slot away into a large kitchen cupboard, but if you plan on leaving it outdoors, we recommend protecting it from the elements with one of our durable Oxford fabric covers, which are made specifically for our models. What’s the Best Type of Pizza Oven: Gas, Electric or Wood? Gas Pizza Oven Pros: Quick preheat (around 20 minutes) and fast cooking (2 minutes once preheated). Generally more affordable to power due to gas bottle use. Offers a classic cooking experience with an analogue temperature gauge. Provides a more authentic pizza-baking feel. Cons: Requires a gas bottle for operation. Analogue thermometer may be less precise or convenient for some users.   Electric Pizza Oven Pros: Similar quick preheat and cooking times as gas ovens. Easier to use and maintain, no need for gas bottles. Comes with a digital thermometer for more precise temperature control. More convenient for indoor use, just needs a power socket. Cons: Typically more expensive to power than gas ovens. Lacks the traditional cooking experience of gas or wood ovens.   Wood Pizza Oven Pros: Delivers an intense, smoky flavour for an authentic, rustic pizza experience. Ideal for traditionalists who want to replicate restaurant-style wood-fired pizzas. Cons: Requires significant masonry work and is much more expensive. Takes up considerable space, usually only feasible for those with a large garden. Less portable and harder to manage than gas or electric alternatives.   By far the two most popular types are gas and electric, as wood-fire ovens are endearingly traditional, but the masonry work required to have a wooden pizza oven makes it a far more expensive fixture rather than the cost-effective portable options out there. Gas and electric pizza ovens are very similar. Both take around 20 minutes to preheat and a further two minutes to cook the pizza. However, the key difference is in the input – electric ovens need a power socket and gas ovens require a gas bottle. Generally, this means the gas pizza oven is more affordable to power. This also impacts how temperature is displayed; electric versions come with a digital thermometer, while gas pizza ovens use an analogue gauge. If you desire the classic feel to your pizza baking, go for gas, but for convenience, electric pizza ovens are generally easier to handle without the need for a gas bottle. For an intensely smokey flavour, go for wood if you have the budget and garden space, but let’s face it – not many do. Choosing Your Pizza Stone: Stationary or Rotating? Your pizza stone is the resting spot for your pizza while it is in the oven, able to cook the bottom without sticking, making for that all-important satisfying crisp. Pizza stones can be stationary or rotating, depending on which you find simplest. To turn a pizza using a stationary stone, use a pizza peel to dig underneath the pizza and lift it. Using a rotary pizza peel such as those in our range will make it much easier to spin the pizza so a different side gets a turn right underneath the fire, ensuring an even bake. If you can’t quite get the hang of using a stationary pizza stone, a rotating pizza stone may be easier for you. As the name suggests, the stone is able to spin 360 degrees independently, meaning rather than digging underneath the pizza, the stone rotates automatically. At Kettler, all our pizza ovens come equipped with an LFGB-approved cordierite pizza stone. This approval means it is safe for food contact, and what’s more, these stones provide excellent heat retention and distribution, so you can get that leopard-spotted effect and crispy bottom all around your pizza. Options from Kettler Kettler has a variety of options for those seeking a quality gas or electric pizza oven, all designed with the same simplicity, convenience and cooking power across the range. Let’s explore some of the best gas and electric pizza ovens on the market. Our range is split two ways: by type (gas and electric), and by size (13-inch and 17-inch). The 13” versions are more compact and take up less space on the outdoor kitchen countertop, but the 17” versions let you bake some truly taste goliaths. Our 17” Gas Pizza Oven with Rotating Pizza Stone and Therometer is the best gas pizza oven for momentous gatherings, as its spacious 17-inch designs mean you can cook for larger groups with ease, no matter if you’re baking pizza or flambéing fish. Meanwhile, our 17” Electric Pizza Oven shines during those impromptu get-togethers where your friends, where someone suggests firing up the grill. The Best Quality Rattan Garden Furniture Sets
26th March 2025
It’s no wonder why rattan is one of the most timeless materials for garden furniture. With the best quality rattan furniture, you can transform your garden into a sanctuary that marries elegance and longevity. Sun-soaked brunches or twilight soirées become brighter and more chic around a rattan garden table and chairs, where laughter flows as easily as the refreshments. Better still, certain types of rattan can be used for weatherproof garden furniture that ensures that sudden showers are no spoiler, offering you unending enjoyment with minimal upkeep. Let us help you create memories that last with our beautiful, durable rattan furniture collections. What Makes Rattan Furniture Great? Rattan garden tables and chairs are fantastic for a homely aesthetic, giving the impression that your furniture is made of the very nature that surrounds your garden. The initial revival of rattan furniture in the 60s was born out of a desire to return to a Victorian-era style, filling living rooms with ornate details and fibrous textures. Today, that yearning for a simpler time can be seen in cottage gardens across the country. For more information on the history of rattan furniture, read our deep dive into wicker vs rattan. However, at Kettler, we use synthetic rattan for our furniture, to offer additional longevity complimented with the all-natural appearance of real rattan. Pure rattan does not fare well against rain, snow, and sunlight, but by using synthetic rattan, our furniture is weatherproof and resistant to UV radiation. This means that for the first time, you can now enjoy quality rattan furniture outdoors and leave it out all year round (however, you will need to bring cushions inside, as even with their waterproof qualities, they lose their lustre if kept outdoors for a long time). Best Rattan Furniture Sets to Buy 1. Palma Signature Corner Set Our Palma designs have been a beloved favourite for over a decade, and it’s easy to see why. This classically-designed corner set seats up to seven people around a versatile high/low table, which allows you to adjust it effortlessly between dining and lounging modes. This five-seater lounge set is completed with a low-sitting table, finished with a ceramic slat top that brings together the scene, whether you’re relaxing with a book or hosting friends. Lounge in this brand-new lounge set 3. Palma Signature Grande Corner Set If you’re looking for luxury, the Palma Signature Grande Corner Set is the ultimate statement piece. The largest in our Palma range, this spacious set features a symmetrical design that works in any orientation, allowing you to make the most of your patio, decking or conservatory. After that, the aluminium slat tabletop will come into view, its hand-painted top made to resemble wood for a touch of homeliness when alfresco dining. Upon taking it all in, you’ll start to soothe your brow and curl the corners of your mouth. Embrace sumptuous relief with this corner set 7. Sit in this stylish balcony set Frequently Asked Questions How Can You Tell If Rattan Furniture is High Quality? When choosing rattan furniture, look for a tight weave with no gaps, consistently smooth rattan free of splinters and a sturdy frame. The best quality rattan furniture is treated with a coating to prevent fading and deterioration. At Kettler, all our rattan furniture uses UV-resistant synthetic rattan wrapped around a powder-coated aluminium frame. Which Type of Rattan is the Best? The best type of rattan for outdoor furniture is synthetic rattan, known more technically as a polyethylene rattan. Highly durable and resistant to UV ways, water and extreme temperatures, it is strong enough to withstand outdoor use while requiring minimal maintenance. Best of all, it retains the look and feel of natural rattan, allowing you to enjoy as close to the authentic feel of real rattan as possible. What to Consider When Building an Outdoor Kitchen
What to Consider When Building an Outdoor Kitchen
21st March 2025
In the UK, the garden has been changing. Since we were all cooped up in our homes in 2020, people have started to want to make their gardens more than just a leisure space. They now want a place that makes everyday activities a social occasion, a pleasure amongst the picturesque natural haven of your backyard, and for the best of times. Creating an outdoor kitchen is a brilliant way to transform your garden into a vibrant space for both everyday activities and social gatherings. Imagine cooking up a feast while chatting with friends, similar to a BBQ get-together, but with the ability to prepare a smorgasbord of meals and small eats, not just the juicy, chargrilled meats. Watched the Beckham documentary on Netflix recently? Then you’ll have seen David Beckham using it in action: a lavish, beautiful space for solo endeavours to whip up breakfast for the family, or a hybrid space for cooking and social engagement in a way that an indoor kitchen rarely is. Your outdoor kitchen setup does not have to be as flashy as the multi-millionaire footballer, however. An outdoor kitchen can range from a simple BBQ setup to a fully equipped culinary haven with food prep units, cupboards and even drinks coolers. It can even be a covered space for those sceptical about the UK’s unpredictable weather, so you can make outdoor cooking a year-round adventure. If you want to build a BBQ area or any outdoor kitchen setup, here are some ideas and a guide to making it. This guide will inform you of all the essential aspects to consider, from planning and budgeting to selecting the right equipment and materials. Whether you want to create a simple grill station or a comprehensive outdoor kitchen, you’ll find the information you need to make your very own grill island for the best of times. How to Build an Outdoor Kitchen Before you start diving into your new kitchen space, it’s vital to consider a few aspects to avoid problems later down the road. Here is what you need to know: Assessing Your Budget The first step in creating your outdoor kitchen is to set a budget. Any outdoor kitchen plan should prioritise the budget to ensure that the project remains affordable. At Kettler, our modular outdoor kitchen stations are perfect for this, as they allow you to expand your kitchen over time seamlessly. This flexibility ensures that you can start small and add more features as your budget allows, making the process both manageable and means it will become more enjoyable as time goes on, not less. Factoring in Your Garden Size Shape your outdoor kitchen around your garden, not the other way around. Outdoor kitchens work well when placed against a wall, offering protection from the elements and freeing up more floor space for tables and chairs. Depending on the available space, you might opt for an L-shape or galley-style design. It’s also wise to position the kitchen relatively close to your indoor kitchen as you’ll be heading in to grab ingredients and crockery often, though this isn’t strictly necessary. The size of your garden will greatly impact the layout of your outdoor kitchen, but even a modest garden can accommodate a wealth of cooking riches. Storage Options Storage is a crucial element of an outdoor kitchen, especially if you plan on using a gas BBQ which will need a gas bottle attached. You’ll also need space to store utensils, cooking ingredients, and perhaps even outdoor crockery. At Kettler, our outdoor kitchen stations come with built-in cupboards, offering ample storage solutions that keep your space tidy and organised. The sheer amount of utility of this outdoor cooking station will continually offer convenience when you need it. Its ultra-wide countertop makes for robust preparing, cooking and serving of pizzas, meat, or a free choice of dishes. These stations come in single, double, and triple-door modules and can be wheeled and locked into place. Each station is fitted with a premium-quality stainless steel table top suitable for a pizza oven, electric grill, or plancha grill, making it a culinary powerhouse. There is also a specialised cabinet for stowing away the gas bottle discreetly, and the larger cabinet can hold two gas bottles, allowing you to create more advanced dishes such as curries, stews, stroganoffs, and more on the grills. A built-in waste bin lets you quickly throw any rubbish away, and you can hang your cooking utensils and cleaning cloths inside the door, keeping everything neat and accessible. Best of all, this is done discreetly so that you and your guests can put full focus on the food. Designing Your Outdoor Kitchen When designing your kitchen, consider whether you’ll keep it under a canopy or pergola or leave it open. While a canopy provides protection and allows for use in any weather, an open setup offers a more spacious feel. Either way, we recommend using tailored protective covers to preserve the quality of your equipment. When planning your layout, consider both functionality and aesthetics. Typically, the cooker is positioned in the centre with side panels for easy access to all workspaces, ensuring that you can move between spaces fluidly without having to move far away from the BBQ or cooker. A three-bay setup is ideal for this, and even our one-door kitchen stations have fold-out tables that give you a space-conscious three-bay setup. There’s no setup required, simply roll it out to where you need it to prepare meals just as you would in the house. Building Your Kitchen Area If you are looking to build an outdoor kitchen with a wood frame, brick, or cinder blocks, you should get a quote from a professional to ensure that the job is done to a good standard. If you prefer to leave it open or have a simple canopy, then this can be done by hand. To set up an outdoor kitchen canopy using one of our panalsol pergolas, consult the assembly guide. We recommend that it requires four people. The best way to build an inexpensive outdoor kitchen is to have a simple canopy, use recycled materials such as wooden pallets, old decking, bricks or stone, or leave it to the elements. The good news is that even if you build a canopy, you typically won’t need planning permission as it is not considered a permanent structure, so you can get to the building straight away. You should check your local area’s height restrictions and structure rulings, though. The construction of your outdoor kitchen can be straightforward with the right materials and planning. Using durable materials that withstand the elements is essential. For instance, stainless steel is an excellent choice for outdoor kitchens due to its robustness and resistance to rust. There is an alternative option which avoids any construction – buying the Cozze Outdoor kitchen units, which can provide you with your very own workstation in the garden with no construction needed. If you’re planning on having a cooler or electric BBQ, you will need an appropriate power socket outside. Contact an electrician about placing an outside outlet. We offer a range of energy-efficient electric pizza ovens, grills and planchas. What Can You Cook With In Your Outdoor Kitchen? When planning your outdoor kitchen, consider the various cooking options available, such as BBQs, Planchas, or pizza ovens. Here are some popular choices: BBQ Building a BBQ area is a classic choice for any outdoor kitchen. The signature smoky taste of BBQ is something we all aspire to create. Whether you prefer charcoal, gas, or wood-fired options, a quality BBQ will serve as the centrepiece for grilling everything from burgers to skewers and vegetables. These BBQs pair exceptionally well with our outdoor kitchen tables. Plancha For those with limited space, a Cozze Plancha grill is a marvel. Quick to heat up, easy to manage and perfect for searing everything from meat to veggies, it keeps the cooking casual but the flavours intense. Crafted with an enamelled cast iron grill plate, it’s a portable, versatile grill that allows you to create meals from breakfast fry-ups to dinners with fish and burgers. It’s compact size and efficient heating make it an excellent choice for any outdoor kitchen area, and is ideal for our outdoor kitchen tables with wheels. Pizza Oven Our tabletop pizza ovens are more versatile than meets the eye. With its rotary pizza stone and powerful heating quality which can bake a pizza in two minutes, you can also cook fish, steak, vegetables, and even bake bread. It comes with a front door that slots in to cover the heat and fire inside, just like the master pizza crafters in Italy do it. Plus, their sleek letterbox-like design is easy on the eye and equally easy to place on top of a small outdoor kitchen table with wheels. These ovens provide a unique cooking option that goes beyond just pizza. Additional Outdoor Kitchen Ideas It’s the finishing touches that really bring an outdoor kitchen to life. Fixed lighting, especially if it’s undercover, can create a welcoming atmosphere for evening gatherings. Add decorations that you couldn’t in an indoor kitchen to place in the garden, such as plant pots on the floor on either side of the workstation, garden ornaments, and water features. These additional elements not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of your outdoor kitchen but also make it a more functional and enjoyable space. Make Your Cherished Garden Space with Kettler If you’re looking to upgrade your garden space to make this summer one to cherish, our dedicated team is here to assist you in creating an outdoor kitchen for the best of times. Our customers and fans love the way products like our pizza ovens look incredible atop our kitchen workstation, allowing them to bask in glorious weather and cook delicious meals with a drink in their hand. Creating moments like this has been Kettler’s mission since it was founded in the 1960s, and it still fuels us today. We provide expert advice and support throughout your decision-making process. What is the Best Shape for a Garden Parasol?
What is the Best Shape for a Garden Parasol?
12th March 2025
When considering garden must-haves, a parasol undoubtedly is somewhere at the top of the list. Picture the joy of gathering under its shade, sharing laughter and meals with friends and family, with no strain on the eyes or fears of the young ones getting sunburnt. Choosing the perfect shape for your garden can make all the difference in creating an inviting and comfortable outdoor space. But how do you decide on the best shape? It’s a crucial decision that impacts not just the look, but also the effectiveness of your outdoor shading. That’s what this guide is all about – exploring the key considerations to help you find the right shape of parasol for your garden. What to Consider When Choosing Your Garden Parasol Firstly, think about how you’re going to use your parasol. Are you looking to shade a large area or a specific spot like a dining table? Larger areas might benefit from square or octagonal parasols, which offer more extensive coverage. For narrow balconies, a half-balcony parasol is a smart choice, while square parasols are perfect for dining areas where you need consistent shade over a rectangular table. Consider the space and layout of your outdoor area. Measuring the available space will give you a solid idea of how your parasol can fit in without overcrowding the area – the last thing you want is not having enough room for furniture and movement! When considering the size of your parasol, add half a metre to a metre wider than the area you want to cover. Matching the parasol shape to your space can help this greatly; square parasols work well in corners or against walls, whereas hexagonal and octagonal parasols excel in open spaces. Additionally, it’s important to understand the difference between a cantilever parasol and a wind-up parasol. Wind-up parasols are ideal for use with dining tables and the Kettler mesh range, whereas Cantilever parasols offer more flexibility as they are free-arm and can be positioned without a central pole, making them perfect for shading lounging areas or irregular spaces. Finally, aesthetic and design preferences play a crucial role in your decision-making and you should opt for a parasol shape that complements your décor. Square parasols have an angular and modern look, while octagonal shapes provide a classic appeal that harkens to cafes by the sea. Ensure the parasol’s colour and material align with your outdoor furniture and overall aesthetic to create a cohesive and inviting space. Square Parasols If you want to maximise coverage for your outdoor space, look no further than a square parasol, such as our large free-arm garden parasol. Its design is perfect for covering square or rectangular tables and seating areas, ensuring that everyone gets ample shade. Its sleek, contemporary look crafted from UV-resistant, crease-proof polyester seamlessly blends with contemporary outdoor spaces that opt for minimalism and sophistication. Plus, the straight edges mean you can place it against a wall or other structure, adding versatility to your patio configurations. Half Parasols Ideal for those with limited space, half parasols like the Menos ½ Balcony Parasol are a godsend. With a flat back that sits snugly against a wall or railing, it cleverly finds a solution to the common issues faced with small patios and balconies. Lighter and easier to move around than full-sized parasols, this compact option makes the most out of those cosy outdoor spots. Wind-Up Round Parasols Bring a touch of style and practicality to your garden with our hexagonal wind-up parasol. Its shape suits both round and square spaces and offers a showstopping blend of both classic and en-vogue looks. With fewer sides than an octagon, it means that the individual panels are larger, providing slightly better wind resistance while still giving ample shade. Plus, at Kettler, our round mesh tables have a hole in the centre for wind-up parasols. Octagon Free Arm Parasols For a classic design that fits a variety of outdoor settings, an octagon parasol such as our high-tech free arm octagonal parasol with LED lighting and wireless speaker is an excellent option. It’s the best of a square and round parasol shape, its eight-sided structure providing even coverage and creating a pleasing aesthetic symmetry, particularly when paired with round tables and seating arrangements. Able to cover a larger area than most other parasols, this shape is perfect for providing extensive shade and a touch of elegance to your garden. Which Parasol Shape is Best For You? The answer is simple yet complicated – it truly depends on your specific needs and space. If your patio area is on the smaller side, a round dining set will be best. But the possibilities expand for larger outdoor spaces – perhaps a square or rectangular table would be more fitting. At Kettler, we offer a high-quality array of garden parasols in all shapes and sizes, crafted from robust, shower and UV-resistant materials and on certain models, fitted with LED lights and Bluetooth speakers. Our designs not only enhance the beauty of your garden but also create an irresistible urge to spend quality time outdoors. Imagine leisurely afternoons and lively evenings in your garden, surrounded by family and friends. Our products are designed to elevate every moment. Build Lasting Moments in Your Garden with Kettler At Kettler, it’s been our mission since the 1960s to create outdoor furniture for the best of times. This commitment still fuels us today, and our team is here to help you find the perfect parasol to shield your outdoor space from the sun, rain and the open. If you have any questions, contact us today, and let’s make your garden a space for lifelong memories to be made.

Palma corner set in white wash on a garden terrace with 10th anniversary logo
10 Years of the Palma Collection
21st March 2025
It’s a testament to the enduring beauty of the Palma garden furniture collection, which has redefined how we enjoy our gardens for a full decade. At Kettler, we’ve been looking forward to marking 2025 as the decade anniversary since we first conceived of what would become our longest-standing collection. There’s something unique about Palma. We’ve seen designs come and go, but Palma has stood the test of time. When it first came together, we perhaps didn’t know how long-lasting it would be, yet its evergreen design still continues to appeal through the last ten years of trends, advancements and lifestyle changes. We couldn’t be more proud to see it bring friends, families and homes together, providing a comforting sanctuary for the best of times. To commemorate this milestone, let’s explore the collection in detail, take a trip back in time to see its humble beginnings and explain how it grew into the collection it is today. Exploring the Palma Garden Furniture Collection Since the first release of Palma, this collection has reflected the modern casual dining and lounging lifestyle, with earthly materials and colours that are equal parts sophisticated and complimentary of a British garden. All its seats and tables are made with detailed handwoven synthetic rattan, which wraps around the entirety of the set from the slightly rounded armrests to the frame of the table. No matter what combination of furniture you have, Palma is bound to attract social events. At the core of the range lies the classic Palma Signature Corner Set. This iconic seven-seater set has slotted into gardens across the country, providing a homely, communal space that’s set the scene for thousands of catch-ups over delicious food and drink. Though this is what Palma is renowned for, over the years we have grown the range significantly with sun loungers, low lounge set, mini sets and recliners with matching footstools. Now, you can have your entire outdoor space match with the same charming design no matter your needs. How Did the Journey Begin? When Palma was launched to the public in 2015, it introduced the concept of casual dining to the world. For those occasions when you wish to dine without losing the feeling of relaxation from a lounge set, Palma made it possible with a premium-quality table that was made at just the right height for lounging and dining on. Presented in two colourways – Whitewash and Rattan – Palma became an immediate hit. How Palma Garden Furniture Has Changed Over the Last 10 Years Over the years, Kettler’s Palma garden furniture sets have been revolutionised in a number of ways. In the beginning, they were only available with a slat table until we created a glass-top table that matched the set whilst offering a more luxurious option. From there, in 2019, the range expanded to include the Palma fire pit table as part of a set, igniting new ways to create a spectacle amidst the synthetic rattan that defines the Palma look. 2021 saw the largest update to the range yet, including the addition of the Palma Daybed, Palma Signature Low Lounge, Palma Duo and Palma Sofa sets. However, the most notable difference in the range is the new colourway since the range was launched: Oyster. Evoking the pebble beaches of the British seaside with a light rattan colouring complemented by stone-coloured cushions, the Oyster colour is a refreshing contrast to those who prefer light cushions and wish to inject a little warmth into their patio. This year, Kettler has introduced the Signature range to Palma, which adds waterproof cushions, and our famous High/Low table, which can be height adjusted in a matter of moments. Hosting a Garden Brunch: Menu and Décor Ideas
21st March 2025
There’s a real pleasure in hosting a garden brunch in the summertime. A break from the usual rusharound that comes with the season, a brunch out on your patio is a more relaxed gathering, with less of the pressure that comes with an evening meal. Plus, going al fresco is a break from the everyday, as you’re able to enjoy food with loved ones while basking in the morning sun – a recipe for lasting memories to be made. At Kettler, we’re here to help create those memories for you. From planning the perfect menu to creating a welcome atmosphere with brunch décor ideas, we’ll guide you through every step. We’ll explore ideal brunch timings, how to transform your patio into a stylish dining space and equip you with the perfect outdoor cooking tools, so you can savour delicious food with good company and warm weather in your own home. What is the Most Common Time for Brunch? Firstly, what time should you tell your guests to come round? Brunch is typically the time in-between breakfast and lunch, hence the portmanteau in its name. The most common times for hosting a brunch are between 11am and 1pm, but you can also stretch it to a late lunch. Brunch Décor Ideas for Your Garden Now we’ve established that brunch is the ideal excuse for a relaxed, sun-soaked get-together, you now need to set the scene, and a beautiful brunch table will do just that. No brunch is complete without a quality dining set, and at Kettler, we have wood, mesh and synthetic rattan dining sets that channel the outdoors while being strong enough to withstand the outdoors all year round, though we recommend getting a protective cover which is tailor-made to each set. Available in table designs ranging from aluminium slats to wood effect to glass tops, you can select the perfect style to suit you. Pick between the spaciousness of a square dining or the togetherness of a round dining table. For more advice on which table shape is right for you, consult our guide to choosing the best shape for your outdoor dining set. Whichever shape you choose, matching rattan or wicker serving platters will pair exquisitely with our dining sets and add a touch of natural elegance to your table. Instead of your patio sticking out from the rest of the garden like a sore thumb, bring the garden to it in subtle ways such as a well-placed potted plant as the centrepiece of your table. With just a simple touch like this, you can make your outdoor space a seamless extension of your garden, creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere your guests will love. How to Cook Brunch Outdoors To truly unleash your inner culinary wisdom, you need the right equipment for the job. At Kettler, we have numerous ways to solve this issue. Our Cozze plancha grills are portable powerhouses that let you whip up breakfast, lunch, dinner and small eats in one device. With this lightweight and easy-to-store cast iron grill, you can cook anything from bacon and eggs to sausages, fish, burgers and pancakes outdoors. Plus, its compact design is staunchly modern and is sure to impress at your brunch. It’s a sophisticated way to welcome in the divine smells and succulent flavours of your favourite cuisines one that ensures even heat distribution and a perfect cook every time. Another alternative is a pizza oven, but not the traditional ovens you may be thinking of. A far cry from the bulky pizza ovens that require a tonne of space to operate in, modern Cozze pizza ovens are sleek and streamlined, sporting a minimalistic design that fits into any décor with poise. But it’s not form over function; with our pizza ovens, you can stone bake perfect restaurant-style pizzas at home in as little as two minutes once preheated. This is ideal for brunches with multiple guests and taste preferences, as you can rustle up different pizzas with different sauces and toppings in a matter of moments at your guests’ request. You may think it’s a lot of equipment to create one dish, but our pizza ovens are more versatile than you think – you can use them to bake bread, and flame-cook vegetables and steaks for alternative brunch meals. You can easily bake pizza in your electric pizza oven all year round, but there is nothing like cosying up on the terrace after a hot summer’s day with a little slice of heaven cooked in the outdoor pizza oven. What’s on a Typical Brunch Menu? Now you have the tools to create a midday feast in your outdoor space, the next item on the agenda is what to cook for your guests. Brunch can range from a meaty fry-up to pastries to sized-down versions of what could be served at dinnertime. Thankfully, the versatility of your plancha and pizza oven allows you to experiment with various ingredients and prepare a plethora of exquisite meals that will delight your guests and your palette. With the grill plancha, there’s no limit to what you can create. You could assemble the perfect Sunday morning brunch with a bacon and sausage fry-up with some bread rolls to hold it all together, or take your guests to an American diner and fry pancakes with a range of toppings and sauces of their choosing. Finally, the ability to fry eggs cracks open the options greatly. Nothing beats a simple dish of scrambled or poached eggs, or you could put together an omelette or even eggs benedict – you can fry the bacon that goes with it on the same plancha as you prepare a Hollandaise sauce with some melted butter, egg yolks, lemon juice, dijon mustard, salt and pepper. On the other hand, your pizza oven could be your trusted companion for creating a spread of mini pizzas with all sorts of toppings and flavours, allowing your guests to try as they please and gravitate towards their favourites. Away from pizzas, you could deliver steak and eggs, a real hearty, greasy spoon brunch that is popular in the USA. Or if you’re in the mood for something more refined, a smoked salmon could be just the ticket to a successful brunch, especially with some asparagus and the aforementioned Hollandaise sauce. Whatever you decide, the possibilities ensure that you could have ideas for many more brunches to come. Transform Your Garden into a Social Sanctuary with Kettler Turn your outdoor space into a place for the best of the times with Kettler. Our mission to provide garden furniture for those unforgettable moments stretches back to the 1960s, and it’s a flame that shines even brighter today. How to Make an Outdoor Cinema
How to Make an Outdoor Cinema
12th March 2025
There’s something magical about watching a movie under the stars. From drive-in cinemas to cosy backyard screenings, outdoor cinemas have become increasingly popular, especially after lockdowns kept us all inside. Imagine this: you’re outside with your favourite people, curled up on a lounge garden set, tucked up in blankets with an action brawler, wacky comedy or heavy-hearted drama on the silver screen. How do you make this reality while not sacrificing the elegance of your garden space? Here’s how you can create your own outdoor cinema experience. How to Make an Outdoor Cinema Screen The first essential is a projector to display the films. While a traditional screen is an option, there’s a certain charm to a projector beaming light from behind you, making you feel closer to the experience. There are a few ways to set up your projection area: Classic White Bedsheet: Drape and peg a white bedsheet to a wall for a simple, cost-effective screen. Portable Projector Screens: These are great but are usually expensive and fragile. Deluxe Panalsol: Our Panalsols come with textile side panels that are perfect as a projector screen. These pergolas offer an adjustable roof and walls, protecting you from wind and rain, or letting you sit under the stars while you watch your favourite blockbuster. Making Snacks What’s a film night without delicious snacks? Our Cozze Pizza Ovens can bake a pizza in just two minutes, allowing you to provide record-fast movie treats that let you customise your toppings and can be shared around the whole group. If you are looking for more variety, our Cozze Grill Planchas are handy for making hot food like burgers, hot dogs, and potato wedges – perfect for any big-screen adventure. Plus, once the night is up, these planchas can be easily stowed away thanks to their light and space-conscious design. Make It Comfortable Comfort is key for a great outdoor cinema experience. Lounge sets create a plush, communal atmosphere that encourages guests to chat and enjoy each other’s company before and after the movie. At Kettler, our signature lounge sets come with a glass-top lounge table, perfect for holding drinks, food and even the projector. Meanwhile, our corner sets ensure everyone has a great view of the screen and they include side tables for extra convenience. Our ranges such as Palma and elba feature sophisticated, modern designs that add a touch of glamour while treating each guest to thick foam cushions you can sink into for an entire trilogy. Outdoor Heating Watching horror flicks can send a shiver down your spine, but you don’t want that to be because of the cold. Keep things toasty with our outdoor heaters. Options include patio heaters, fire pits and lantern heaters, all with gorgeous designs in matte or glossy finishes that give it the pizzazz of a Hollywood premiere. Plus, they come with remote-controlled operation, so you can adjust the temperature without leaving your seat, enhancing the atmosphere at the touch of a button. Make Treasured Moments in Your Garden with Kettler Whether you are looking to refresh your outdoor living space with dining sets, create a cosy corner with our lounge sets, or cook up a spectacle with our grills and ovens, Kettler is the home for garden furniture for the best of times. We’ve been making furniture for this purpose since the 1960s, and our team is happy to help with finding the right furniture for you. Embrace The Cottage Lifestyle
12th March 2025
Have you heard about cottagecore? For the last few years, it has seeped across many facets of the online world and created a global community of young people who grow nostalgic for the wistful aesthetic of a cottage garden. The cottagecore hashtag has over 1.7m posts on TikTok, and scrolling through them, you’ll find people dressed as elves, longer videos of people baking or gardening, and shorter montage-like compilations of footage that together embody the cottagecore lifestyle. At Kettler, we believe in creating garden furniture for the best of times and few things achieve the feeling of cosiness in the surroundings of your garden like cottagecore. If you wish to transform your outdoor space into a cottage-inspired haven, this guide will help you achieve that perfect look. What is Cottagecore? Cottagecore is a TikTok phenomenon comprised of videos that romanticise the idyllic rural life. How-to videos and compilations are filled with baking, arts and crafts, flower prints, plants, pottery, mushrooms and rolling fields, with themes of simpler times, tranquillity and being at one with nature. Many creators that are deep into cottagecore look as though they are trying to be Snow White, but deep down, the aesthetic is about longing for the simple things in life that put you in your own little world. Where everything seems to move a million miles a minute, the essence of cottagecore is escapism and cherishing a brief moment of respite. Achieving the Cottagecore Aesthetic in Your Garden Transforming your garden into a cottagecore haven involves thoughtful choices in furniture and decor. Here are some tips to help you create that charming, cosy atmosphere: Rattan Furniture What’s more whimsical than furniture wrapped in wicker? Our rattan furniture is made from synthetic rattan that has the tactile feel of the real thing, but with additional strengths against weather and rain, allowing you to leave it out all year round (excluding the cushions, which should be put away after use). Plus, they come with thick cushions that are double-padded to retain their shape year after year, meaning you can enjoy their comfort as you create new memories in your garden. From two-seater bistro sets to our signature corner sets which can seat up to seven, our reclining footstools to our low companion lounge chair sets, there are so many ways to incorporate this enchanting furniture into your garden. Charlbury Design For the most prestigious of cottage gardens, the Charlbury range offers luxury embedded into homely design. The rattan-constructed design uses rounded shapes which look like they were pulled straight out of an illustrated storybook. These shapes are practical as well as a visual treat, as it is protected by an aluminium frame which is resistant to rust, UV and the weather. If you wish to spend a moment of solace under a clear sky just listening to the wildlife in your backyard, few pieces of furniture are more suited than our Charlbury range. Wooden Textures Cottagecore is based around incorporating as many natural resources as possible, thus wooden surfaces and exteriors are a must. Pale brown tables such as our Cora Round Side Table – ideal for resting your mug of tea on top of – have a camouflage-like effect amongst wildflowers. So for those with a wildflower garden, wooden furniture blends seamlessly, adding warmth to your quiet cottage retreat. Creams and Browns Adjacent to the previous idea, using pastoral colours for furniture such as shades of cream and brown is essential to completing the cottagecore look. These colours evoke a sense of calm and blend beautifully with the natural surroundings. Pair them with flowers such as White Rose of York or Georgia Peach to compliment these colours and bring the whole scene together. Create Lasting Memories in Your Garden with Kettler Since the 1960s, Kettler has been dedicated to designing outdoor furniture that sets the stage for lifelong memories. This enduring commitment continues to inspire us today. Our team is here to assist you in finding furniture that will transform your garden into a charming cottage retreat, ensuring your social gatherings are truly unforgettable. Guide to Buying a Outdoor Fire Pit
Guide to Buying a Outdoor Fire Pit
14th March 2025
It’s nearly time to say goodbye to winter and give a warm welcome to spring. A time to get outdoors and start entertaining in the garden. By investing in a fire pit, it is a great way to spend more time in your garden with friends and family, even when the sun has set for the day. What is a fire pit? A fire pit is like an outdoor “fireplace” that doesn’t require any installation. Portable and easy to clean, a fire pit offers the perfect combination of a permanent outdoor fireplace and a grill. Things to Consider before Buying a Fire Pit Table? Pick a Style Fire pits come in a variety of styles, including small, portable metal bowls to large stone or stainless-steel models. The popular choice of garden fire pits can also be used as coffee tables. Like the Palma fire pit table, which allows you to put a lid on the fire pit when you want to serve up a meal. Consider your outdoor décor, whether it’s sleek and minimalist, charmingly eclectic, or rustic in style. Think about the look and feel of your gardens and find a fire pit that adds to the atmosphere. For a modern garden, our top pick will be the Kalos Universal Fire pits with a smooth stylish finish. Pick the Perfect Size Fire pits range in size from 52cm to 132cm. Choose a size that fits your budget and location. If you are limited for space, then a wall standing fire pit would be ideal. If you want a fire pit that will allow you to rest your feet on the lip of a fire pit, then choose a model that’s slightly lower than a standard seat height so you can get more heat to the body. Decide on Fuel With fire pits, you have the choice of either wood-burning or gas/propane. One of the biggest benefits of a wood-burning fire pit is that it’s cost-efficient. Whereas propane and natural gas fire pits offer the advantage of being faster to light, which creates instant warmth. They are also smoke-free, easier to clean-up and control. Think of purpose Ask yourself what you want to use the fire pit for? If you fancy the idea of cooking on the heat of a real fire, then a wood-burning fire pit will be the best option. Maybe you want to add a fantastic design feature to your outdoor space? In which case a gas or propane fire pit would be the better. Also, look out for features that fit you and your family. If you want the option to rest a drink on whilst you relax in the garden, then look for a fire pit with enough lip. Other Considerations It’s important to consider fire-safety standards when operating an outdoor fire pit and take measures to reduce it. Ensure that your fire pit is at least 10 feet away from buildings and fences. It needs to be placed on a level, hard ground such as hard-stone, cement or tile. Ensure everyone in the house knows how to turn off the fit pit, and never leave young children unattended around the flames. Top tips for your fire pit Add a sprinkle of sage to your fire pit to help keep mosquitoes and other flying nasties away. Fill apples with granola or crumbled oatmeal cookies, wrap in tin foil and cook in the embers of your fire pit for a delicious, warm dessert. Put a grill on top of your fire pit and transform it into a barbecue. The new Kalos gas fire pits are available in a choice of styles and sizes, with something to suit all tastes. Your garden is sure to become your favourite hangout spot, providing a great opportunity to get family and friends together.

Guide to Buying a Garden Heater
Guide to Buying a Garden Heater
14th March 2025
If you want to enjoy your garden all year round, then an outdoor heater would be a great investment. Having the right patio heater will allow you to take full advantage of your outdoor space, even when the temperatures drop. However, choosing the right patio heater can be tricky. With this guide, we explore all the options that you should consider, so you can keep your garden nice and toasty even on cold days. 1. Choose the right fuel type Garden heaters typically use one of four main types of fuel sources – Natural Gas, Propane, Electric & Wood. Before purchasing an outdoor heater, it’s important to consider the pros and cons of each option. PropaneOften used for fire pit heaters, propane is a better option than wood-burning as it provides instant warmth on chilly days, without the constant need of adding wood. Propane garden heaters are easier to control and eliminates the danger of flying sparks. However, they can become quite expensive to run in the long run, as the gas tank needs to be replaced regularly. Advantages Easy to start-up so you can enjoy instant warmth No installation required Enjoy more control, turn the heat up or down with ease Create the ambiance of a campfire, without the worry of smoke getting in your eyes Portable, so can be moved around easily Disadvantages Propane gas costs more than natural gas You are required to replace the gas tank periodically Doesn’t provide the same level of heat that a wood fire does Can’t be used in a covered or enclosed space Natural GasNatural gas garden heaters are popular for the great heat output they provide however, professional installation is required as you need the garden heater to be hooked to a natural gas line. Due to this, you will incur a substantial upfront cost, but once installed they are the cheapest to run. Advantages Cheap to use in the long run Easy to maintain Greater heat output than electric garden heaters Disadvantages Professional installation required Can’t be used in a covered or enclosed space It can be difficult to move as natural gas heaters are fixed to the permanent gas lines. Electric Garden HeaterElectric garden heaters are typically the most convenient option as they don’t require any installation and can be simply plugged in for instant heat. Also, they are the only heaters that can be used in an enclosed environment. However, electric garden heaters are slow to heat the surrounding areas. Advantages Easy to use – just plug it in and flip the switch Can be used in a covered and enclosed space Easy to maintain Easy to move around Disadvantages You are limited to where you can place the heater, as it needs to be near an electric outlet Slow to heat up surrounding areas WoodThere’s nothing quite like being huddled around a real fire, which is why wood garden heaters are a popular choice due to the atmosphere they create. However, you do have the inconvenience of continually adding more wood to keep the fire going. Advantages: Provides a great atmosphere Affordable to purchase Disadvantages: Requires more maintenance than the other options Can be tricky to ignite Have less control over the level of heat It can be difficult and expensive to get wood. 2. Choose the Right Design Before purchasing, you need to consider what design will work best with the rest of your garden decor. Floor Standing Patio HeaterWith an out-there design, floor standing patio heaters are made to be noticed. They are tall, thin and give off a good amount of heat. The price for these can vary depending on how the heater is powered as you have the choice of either gas or electric. The Kalos Floor standing electric heater features a classic design and boasts an impressive 2100W heat output that can heat even the most expansive of gardens well. Hanging Garden Heaters If you want to save garden space, then you require a hanging electric heater. As it provides enough heat to keep you comfortable, without taking up precious garden space. Hanging heaters are almost always electric and available in varying sizes. They usually require installation and depending on how handy you are; are simple enough to do it yourself.   Tabletop HeatersTabletop heaters offer a more affordable option and are great if you only have a small space to heat. Many of them look like smaller versions of the large floor standing heaters; the same design but small enough to place it on top of a table. Fire PitsIf you want to enjoy that campfire feel in your back garden, then fire pits are perfect as they provide that wood-burning ambiance. Of all the options highlighted fire pits require the most maintenance, but for some people, the atmosphere they provide just cannot be beaten. 3. Other things to consider when buying an Outdoor heater? Space & UseArguably the most important consideration when choosing the right patio heater, is the space that you want it for? The situations you will be using it in? How many people will typically be using the heater? Your decision needs to be based on these considerations as for expansive gardens, a large floor standing heater would be best. Whereas if your garden is small and you spend your time in one area, then a tabletop heater can do the trick. For enclosed or covered spaces, you have to rule out most options, except electric outdoor heaters. If you want something more atmospheric and serves as a focal point, then a fire pit would be ideal. Power To avoid unnecessary running costs and prevent wasted energy keep in mind the amount of heat you will need. If you have a wide space and need to provide heat for a lot of people, then a higher wattage heater will be required, usually over 2000W. For smaller spaces, then lower energy output is required, therefore anything around 1500W will be enough. SafetyThere’s no hiding from it all heaters come with risk. Tall, floor-standing patio heater need to be weighted down properly to prevent them from falling over on windy days as you have a risk of fire. All the Kalos electric heaters come with an auto shut off feature for that very reason. Gas and wood heaters need to be kept in open spaces. If you place one in an enclosed area, then you risk the build-up of carbon monoxide and even a fire hazard. Electric heaters are the safest option for enclosed places, but you still need to be careful, as you can’t place them too close to anything that is highly inflammable. As fire pits involve an open fire, you must practice extra caution. Make sure you always put the fire out completely when you’re done using it and never leave kids unattended. Ease of useWhile some garden heaters are extremely easy to use, like electric heaters, fire pits take a little more work and time to set up. Also, the fuel source needs to be replaced regularly. It is worth weighing the outdoor heater you like against what maintenance work you are willing to do, as you want to ensure you get good use out of it. You can’t control the British weather, but you can make your garden more comfortable by choosing the right outdoor heater. Make those social summer evenings last longer with the right garden heater, so your guests can stay comfortable and cosy. For more tips and ideas, keep an eye out for our upcoming blogs.

Table Tennis Table Buying Guide
Table Tennis Table Buying Guide
14th March 2025
Buying a table tennis table isn’t straightforward. For one, not many homes are built to accommodate such large pieces of equipment, requiring you to ask some serious questions. Mainly, do I have enough space? Ultimately, making sure you are prepared is important before any purchase. To get into that position, there are a few things you’ll need to consider before committing to a purchase. Thankfully, we have the answers you need. Here are our tips on buying table tennis table. Things to Consider Before we even look at the options available, we must first prompt you to think of some considerations, namely: Where will you be playing? How much space can you dedicate? Do you have ample storage space? Determining these factors will ultimately point you towards the type of table you buy, how big it is, and how much extra equipment you need. With this determined, let’s get a bit more specific. How Big is a Full-Size Table Tennis Table? Full, competition size table tennis tables measure 152.5x274cm (4.9ft x 8.9ft). This is true for both indoor and outdoor models, with sizes being standardised via the International Table Tennis Federation. There are different table tennis table sizes, but these tend to be smaller than regulation size to better cater for younger players. If you’re serious about fitness (and table tennis), it’s advised to stick to regulation-size tables. This will make you more familiar with how much space you have to play with, making you a more well-rounded player. Thankfully, all KETTLER table tennis tables are made to fit these size regulations. How High is a Table Tennis Table? Table tennis tables are 76cm (2.4ft/0.76 metres) tall. As with their length and width, the height of table tennis tables is also standardised across full-size, competition models. How Much Space Do You Need for a Table Tennis Table? To fit such tables, you will need room for roughly 4 steps back (2 metres) and 2 steps either side of the table (1 metre). This means that your room will need to measure somewhere around the 18ft x 11ft (5.4 x 3.3 metres) margin. If you don’t give yourself enough room, you could either run into walls, hit the table with your bat or knock a vase off a shelf. Thankfully, when it comes to storage, KETTLER table tennis tables can be folded when not in use. This makes them great for portability, and freeing up space. When folded, KETTLER table tennis tables may reach heights of 5.08ft (1.5 metres), so it’s worth ensuring that your room has enough vertical space to accommodate this. Which Room Should I Put the Table Tennis Table In? So, you’ve looked at the spatial requirements and have some options available. When deciding on a room to put your table tennis table in, we advise choosing a room with a consistent temperature. Playing in a room with fluctuating temperatures may even cause the table surface to deteriorate. For your flooring, wooden or laminate flooring is ideal as it’s the most durable material. Foldable table tennis tables will also move easier on these surfaces when you tidy it away. Carpets will become worn over time, and a thick carpet may make the table wobble during play. So, beware of rugs and slippery tiles! Indoor vs Outdoor Table Tennis Tables There is a big difference between indoor and outdoor table tennis tables. Outdoor tables are designed to stay outdoors all year round, while indoor table tennis tables must be kept inside. An indoor table tennis table uses a wooden tabletop; a table tennis table for outside uses a wood and metal weatherproof tabletop. Ping pong balls bounce higher and faster on a indoor tables, whereas the wood/metal mix of an outdoor table absorbs more of the ball’s energy, slowing the game down. If you are playing for fun you are less likely to notice this, however serious table tennis competitors would see the difference. Table Tennis Tabletops, Explained The quality of a table tennis tabletop is usually evidenced by its thickness. Generally, thicker tables are more resilient hardwearing, although they do weigh more than their thinner counterparts. • 22mm or 25mm tables are the toughest. They offer a superb ball bounce, faster rallies and will last longer. Even more, 25mm tabletops are the competition standard. • 19mm tabletops are an affordable choice for people looking to have fun playing ping pong with family and friends. This will give a shorter ball bounce bounce, allowing amateurs to enjoy a steady rally. Quality Table Tennis Tables from KETTLER Whether you’re an up-and-coming table tennis pro, or more of a part-time rally master, you’ll want to make sure you’re playing on a table that will last. Building muscle memory for something non-standard can teach bad habits as time goes on, ultimately leading to a sub-par form and playing style. Thankfully, all our table tennis tables are built with durable materials with indoor and outdoor options available. Up your game with a KETTLER table tennis table, today. What shape of table to use with your garden furniture depends on the size of your garden and who you will have over for dinner. Round table tops tend to be smaller than rectangular or square tables, making them ideal for smaller spaces. If you are looking for a table for a balcony then a mesh round table is the perfect choice. For those who like to entertain with garden parties with lots of people, a rectangular table is best. Extendable tables are rectangular and provide additional seating for bigger parties of up to 10 people. If you are struggling to know the size of the table you need, use our table size chart below. Cleaning and Maintenance Clean all table tops with a sponge and warm, soapy water. Do not use any abrasive chemical cleaning agents. A wax based car shampoo on a mesh table creates an added shine and will not affect the paintwork. Do not use a pressure wash to clean garden furniture. Use a breathable cover when your furniture is not in use for additional protection. We offer a range of spare parts, including footcaps and bolt packs. For a wide variety of garden furniture for outdoor dining, take a look at KETTLER’s Outdoor Table range.

Wood garden furniture has always been a popular choice for thousands of outdoor spaces across the country. As a manufacturer, we have a responsibility to ensure our wood range comes from ethical sources. The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) is one of the ways we use sustainably sourced wood. The FSC is an international, non-governmental organisation founded in 1993. Their mission is to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. They are the mark of ethical forestry across the world and safeguard these natural areas to ensure generations can benefit from these important and beautiful ecosystems. Deforestation affects 60 million indigenous people as well as countless animals and plants. Without managing the situation and replacing or regenerating forests, the land is ruined and wasted. FSC is the only wood certification scheme endorsed by major environmental charities, including WWF and Greenpeace. They ensure parts of the forest are protected entirely in order to give rare animals and plants the chance to grow. Sacred sites are exempt from felling and local communities are supported with jobs and development. Public concern over the state of the world’s forest resources is increasing. All FSC wood is tracked from forest to shop floor and every link is certified to make it clearly identifiable. Kettler ensures we commit to upholding our end of the chain of custody. Therefore, we must organise labelling and material sourcing, by upholding the values of the FSC. This allows us to proudly wear the tick tree on our wood garden furniture. As we take care of the gardens, we have worked so hard to make special and beautiful, we must also appreciate the outdoor spaces in which our wood is taken from. Kettler works with the FSC to be forest friendly, giving you peace of mind that wildlife is protected and looked after.

Ultimate Buying Guide: Garden Chairs, Benches, and Sofas
Ultimate Buying Guide: Garden Chairs, Benches, and Sofas
14th March 2025
A Guide To Buying Garden Chairs, Benches and Sofas When planning out seating arrangements for your garden, there are three main options to choose from. You can use individual chairs plotted in various points to give options to your visitors; there’re benches that give an intimate place to cosy up; and there’re sofas for the more lavish relaxers. No matter which option you decide on, it’s important to ensure that you don’t sacrifice on things like comfort and aesthetics. If you’re not quite sure on which is best for you, have a read through this guide on how to choose the best garden seating. Choosing Garden Seating: Your Considerations Before we look at the types of garden seating available, it’s worth discussing some initial considerations that you’ll need to take into account. Afterall, your seating arrangements are what ultimately dictate the level of relaxation you can offer in your garden, so it helps to step back and make some observations beforehand. In particular, you’ll want to be aware of the following: How many guests do you have over on average? Is there additional space you could utilise away from your usual seating arrangements? What style are you hoping to achieve with your garden? Are you adding to an existing collection or making a change? How big is your seating area? Chairs They may just be for one person to sit and relax or dine on, but outdoor chairs are a crucial element in creating an inviting space for outdoor relaxation. Chairs are often part of a set or can mix and match for the perfect combination, however some can be used as standalone pieces, such as the elba Relaxer Chair (pictured above). Types of Garden Chairs There are a few different types of garden chair available, each one being more applicable to different uses than the last. Here’s an overview of each one from egg chairs to recliners: Egg Chairs Offering both a unique style and comfortable feel, egg chairs are an iconic piece of garden seating. They are designed to be cosy and relaxing, while also offering strong ergonomics. Egg chairs are usually larger than most, with a seating position suspended mid-air. Ideal for a corner piece dedicated to kicking back, egg chairs are the perfect statement piece of garden seating. Recliner Chairs If relaxation is your main priority, you can’t go wrong with a reclining chair. Recliners allow you to put your feet up thanks to an adjustable mechanism that transforms the lower half to extend upwards or be pushed back into a lying down position, just like the Palma Recliner (pictured above). Dining Chairs If you love a garden party or barbecue with friends, you’ll undoubtedly need some strong seating for everyone to enjoy. Dining chairs are designed to be slid underneath tables, allowing guests to eat, drink and socialise in absolute comfort. Usually found as part of a dining set, dining chairs are best chosen in accordance with the style of the rest of your dining area to create a cohesive feeling garden. Benches Benches can be an intimate, cosy place to snuggle in a corner of your garden, and make the ideal spot to relax with a coffee and newspaper. Think about where you want the bench in your garden. Is there a peaceful nook where you can set up your bench? How about next to some French doors, on a patio area with a view of the whole garden? Types of Garden Bench: Regular or Supportive Mesh and wooden benches give a garden a romantic feel and are perfect for sitting with a loved one and enjoying your outdoor space. They offer ideal spots to find a blissful moment which turns into a memory to last a lifetime. Some benches come with lumbar support to assist with ergonomics, like the Hampton Bench (pictured above), while others offer a more understated appearance to blend in with their surroundings, such as the Elba bench. Benches also have the added benefit of being easier to maintain and move, thanks to their one-piece construction. Rather than moving multiple chars back and forth, a bench can be re-positioned in one go. The same rule can be applied to large gatherings; instead of buying multiple chairs, a simple bench can be used to seat multiple party goers with just one piece of furniture. Sofas That’s right, sofas aren’t just for the living room. If you have a family that likes to enjoy time together outdoors, or you simply like to spread out and lounge, sofas are the perfect way to get everyone involved. Pictured: Cora Collection 3-seater and 2-seater outdoor sofas can mix and match with single chairs, as well as coffee or dining tables to create a full lounge set Take the comfort of the indoors with you thanks to cosy seat cushions that let you sink into the sofa. With both wicker and wood, bucket shaped and classic sofa designs, you can pick the right sofa for your space. Whether you need comfort on a patio, decking area, or a conservatory, sofas always bring a relaxing vibe to any garden. Types of Garden Sofas When it comes to garden sofas, there are two main designs to choose from: Corner Sofas A corner garden sofa is a great choice if you want to create a cosy and intimate seating area in your garden. As the name suggests, these sofas are designed to fit neatly into a corner, making them particularly great for smaller gardens where space comes at a premium. The elba Grande Corner set (pictured above) is a great example of this. Styled in an L-Shape with a slightly indented corner seat, this corner sofa can slide effortlessly into the very edges of any garden, while still offering plenty of seating space. Modular Sofas For those looking for more customisation in their gardens, a modular sofa provides the freedom needed to make an adjustable garden sofa that suits your exact needs. These pieces come with individual pieces that can be arranged however you’d like. Need less space? Take a piece away. Need more? Bring the piece back in. The Palma Compact Corner sofa set (pictured) for example has a compartment on the rear to allow for an additional chair to be slid in and out when needed. Room For Two? There are plenty of ways you and a loved one can snuggle up outside. Daybeds and pods offer a perfect way to relax after a long day. Not just garden furniture, these are statement pieces, grabbing the attention of all who enter your garden. Twin seats or companion sets are ideal for afternoon tea, with two chairs separated by a small table, like the simple yet effective Café table (pictured above) Often, these tables can accommodate a parasol for added cover, while also being available in wicker, metal or wooden materials. Pictured: Palma Daybed Garden Seating Materials Material choice plays an important role in garden seating. Some materials are naturally more comfortable than others, leading to some important decisions you’ll have to make. Wood and wicker pieces are often bigger, taking up more space. However, they also have a variety of uses, offering places to both lounge or dine. Mesh chairs often come pre-assembled but are limited to just dining rather than lounging. For more information on garden furniture materials, have a read through our whole buying guide that discusses all the options we have, including pros and cons, considerations, and more: Garden Furniture Materials Buying Guide. Looking After Your Chairs, Sofas and Benches KETTLER seating is durable, weatherproof and built to last, however we advise storing them away over wet and winter months, to make them last longer. Unlike tables, chairs are often moved – tucked in, pulled out, or adjusted to make room for more chairs. Thankfully, we have plenty of information on how to care for specific types of garden seating in our garden furniture care advice guide. How to Choose and Care for Garden Furniture Cushions
How to Choose and Care for Garden Furniture Cushions
14th March 2025
Kettler Cushions and Garden Furniture Covers Guide Most Great British summers come with a little bit of rain. As much as we dream of warmer climates, such a thing simply isn’t reliable in the UK. Showers are unpredictable and can come anytime, with garden furniture taking the brunt of the impact. However, it’s not just the furniture itself that suffers, cushions can be susceptible to damage through continuous rainfall. Here, we’ll explain the ins and outs of garden furniture cushions, and protective covers. From the materials used to the pros and cons, this buying guide will leave you up to date on what deserves a spot in your garden. The Materials Used in Garden Cushions Unlike cushions used indoors, there’s little choice for materials in garden cushions. Often, brands will use a synthetic material such as polyester for its durability and resistance to weathering. However, it’s also worth noting that not all outdoor cushions are waterproof and should therefore not be left outside all-year round. Waterproof vs. Non-Waterproof Cushions Due to additional processing and protective layers, waterproof cushions will often feel a little less comfortable than their non-waterproof counterparts. At KETTLER, your relaxation is our priority, which is why our cushions carry no waterproof rating. We are aware that waterproof cushions are on the market and have been for a few years now. In fact, our garden furniture is designed to be left outdoors all year round. However, we always recommend taking cushions indoors when not in use. KETTLER cushions come with an open cell foam core which maintains its shape for longer, just like with the Aruba Lounge Rope Set (pictured above). An open cell foam is softer and more breathable than a closed cell foam, the likes of which are mostly used on waterproof cushions. However, open cell foam does absorb water. Pros of Waterproof Cushions: Can be left outside in the rain Generally more resistant to spills Tends to last longer compared to non-waterproof cushions Cons of Waterproof Cushions: Made with stiffer, closed-cell materials Less breathable Compresses less than non-waterproof cushions Generally less comfortable Loses shape quicker Rely on sun exposure to dry out, sometimes taking multiple hours So, How Do You Keep KETTLER Cushions Dry? The simplest way to protect your non-waterproof cushions is to bring them inside. This only really needs to be done if you don’t plan on using your garden furniture for an extended period. Storing them in a dry, temperature-controlled environment can prolong the life and comfort of your cushions, making them a far more cost-effective purchase in the long run. If inside isn’t an option, you can even use a cushion storage box as a quick fix. These have the added benefit of keeping your cushions in close reach, ready whenever you need them. Garden Furniture Protective Covers When it comes to garden furniture, we offer a range of protective covers that are tailor-made to fit each piece perfectly. All of our covers include ventilation pockets to reduce the build-up of condensation, and are made with durable synthetic materials to ensure a lifetime of use. During the summer months, you can leave the cushions on the furniture, as long as you use a protective cover for night time or during rain. Can I Cover Metal Garden Furniture? Metal garden furniture can be left outdoors all-year due to its weather resistant properties. As such, we don’t provide tailor fitted covers for our metal garden furniture. Can I Cover Wicker And Wooden Furniture? If you have wicker or wooden garden furniture, and are looking for an alternative way to cover your set, we recommend either a breathable cover, or storing it inside a garage, shed or room in the home. One thing to bear in mind with covering wood furniture is that the pieces must not be laid flat. Instead, try to elevate the separate parts and create a tent effect. This reduces the risk of overexposing the wood to moisture, and allows it to breathe. Alternatively, enjoy year-round use by putting your garden furniture inside a conservatory during the winter months.   Dry Garden Furniture in Seconds Using a tailored protective cover keeps cushions dry. Once the grey clouds part and the blue skies appear, it takes 30 seconds to lift a protective cover off your furniture. Waterproof cushions rely on the sun to dry them out when wet, which could take hours to soak up the rain. That’s hours that could be spent relaxing under the sun. Garden Furniture Care Advice
Garden Furniture Care Advice
19th March 2025
We pride ourselves on the excellent reputation for quality and durability so your garden furniture will be a good investment for years to come. In order for your patio sets to stay looking clean and fresh, each material requires different furniture care processes to ensure it looks good for you and your guests. Read our tips to clean, maintain and store your outdoor chairs, tables, parasols, and cushions. Why not watch one of our videos for further guidance? Wood Garden Furniture Care Kettler uses hardwood in its garden furniture. Hardwood is a higher quality material compared to softwood which requires a different treatment. Acacia and teak furniture is naturally more durable than softwoods, such as pine, due to its high oil content. Clean with a wet cloth or soft-bristled brush and soapy water at least once a year. We recommend cleaning in the Autumn before the colder months arrive. Maintain the natural colour of the wood by applying a wood treatment, such as the Kettler hardwood protector which is 4 times more effective than regular oil. Storing hardwood garden furniture is simple as it can stay outdoors all year round however, we do offer tailored fitted covers for some of our wood furniture Mesh Garden Furniture Care KETTLER mesh furniture includes the THERMOGUARD+ dual finish coating on all steel products. It is specially developed to withstand all conditions and prevent rust, therefore keeping your furniture looking fantastic. Clean the garden furniture with a cloth or sponge and mild washing-up liquid. Rinse any soap residue off and dry thoroughly. Applying a good quality, clear car wax once a year prolongs the life of your metal furniture. Accidents can happen and if the paintwork on your metal garden furniture is chipped, we do offer touch-up paint. This is simple to use. Sand down the damaged area and apply a thin layer of paint over the affected patch. Store your mesh garden furniture inside over the wet months where possible. We recommend you do not cover your mesh furniture. Wicker Garden Furniture Care Kettler uses synthetic wicker, a more durable material than natural wicker which requires less maintenance. We recommend cleaning the furniture without the cushions at least once a year. Brush the furniture down to remove leaves and debris. Use warm, soapy water and a soft cloth to wipe dirt away. Rinse all soapy water off and leave to dry. For complete care use the Kettler Wicker cleaner and protector kit, made with innovative nano-technology and UV filter to prevent fading. Synthetic wicker is safe to leave outdoors all year round (excluding cushions), however we do recommend using one of our tailor made protective covers for the winter months. This will prevent UV damage and will direct water away from your furniture. Aluminium & Textile Sling Care Aluminium is weatherproof, therefore can be left outdoors all year round. It is known for being lightweight so it is recommended you store aluminium garden furniture in a covered area during the wet and windy winter months. To clean, use a damp cloth and warm, soapy water. Textile Sling is durable and long-lasting. It can be easily cleaned with a cloth and warm, soapy water. Alternatively, for extra protection use the multi-surface cleaner, which is suitable for use on a variety of surfaces including stone,  concrete, cast aluminium,  polywood and polyethylene. Parasol & Cushion Fabric Care Parasols should not be left standing in a parasol hole when not in use as this can damage both the parasol and the table. It is best to fold the canopy in and store it in a dry place. To wash the canopy, unscrew the top finial and take the fabric off the arms. Use a sponge or cloth and a mild soap solution to clean the fabric. Place the canopy back onto the frame and leave to dry. Over the years dirty hands, wine accidents and grubby paws can leave a permanent mark on your cushions. For ultimate care use the Fabric and Upholstery complete care kit, which includes a cleaner, protector, and application cloths. By regularly using a fabric protector it reduces the weathering process, to keep your cushions looking like new for longer. Alternatively, you can use warm water and a cloth to wipe down, and then leave to dry. Before cleaning cushions, always remember to remove the inner padding first. Cushion covers and parasol canopies are not machine washable. Store cushions in a dry environment when not in use. Do not store them under the protective cover. Protective Cover Fabric Care Our protective covers direct water away from your furniture, and the breathable material helps heat escape. Protective covers do still generate a warm pocket underneath, and when put on a wet surface this will naturally cause condensation or mildew. Protective Covers offer defence against UV rays. They will discolour under the sun, however, will prevent the furniture from doing the same. If you wish to wash the protective covers, use a cloth and soapy water. DO NOT’S DO NOT pressure wash any Kettler garden furniture. Our cushions are non-machine washable. DO NOT wash cushions in the washing machine. Use breathable covers. DO NOT use a plastic sheet to cover the product. DO NOT use any abrasive cleaners or cloths. Spare Parts Spare and replacement parts for your garden furniture are available. You can find them on the spare parts store. If you struggle to find what you are looking for, call our customer service department on 01527 591901. Cover accidental damages and scrapes with our touch up paint. Footcaps are available as well as bolt packs. Warranty Claim Please note, to make a claim against your garden furniture, please fill out our warranty claim form. You will need a proof of purchase and supporting photographs. The warranty only covers against manufacturing faults and rust within the specified period (varies by product). We will collect any damaged items. Wicker Garden Furniture Care Guide
Wicker Garden Furniture Care Guide
14th March 2025
Wicker Garden Furniture Care Guide Wicker garden furniture is a popular option among homeowners looking for a timeless addition to their garden’s design. Not only is wicker furniture built for endurance, but with a natural appeal and authentic aesthetic, wicker furniture is an excellent choice for establishing a cosy corner or populating a larger gathering area. KETTLER wicker garden furniture is made of a synthetic rattan material. This material lasts much longer than natural rattan, due to some additional protective qualities introduced at the point of manufacture. Synthetic rattan is therefore much easier to clean and maintain. After settling on your wicker garden furniture, you’ll want to make it thrive and last as long as possible. The best way of doing this is to keep it clean. If you’re wondering how to clean wicker furniture and make it last, this guide is for you. Throughout, we’ll cover the tools needed for wicker furniture maintenance and care, along with a step-by-step cleaning guide. Things You’ll Need: Wicker garden furniture is easily maintained, requiring some simple household items for it to be done correctly. In total, you’ll need: A soft-bristled brush (old toothbrushes work great) Vacuum Warm soapy water Dry cloth Cold water for rinsing If you’re struggling to find such things, we sell a complete wicker and rattan furniture care kit that includes a specialised cleaner/protector, 2 scrubbing pads and 3 dry cloths. Not only does this kit make cleaning a doddle, it’s 100% water-based and utilises nanotechnology to provide further protection against accidental spills. How to Clean Wicker Garden Furniture Pictured LaMode Comfort Chair With your equipment prepared, use these steps to clean your wicker furniture from top to bottom: 1. Preparation: Using a combination of your brush and vacuum, you first need to remove any loose debris such as dust and dry dirt. Failing to do this may result in rubbing these back into the furniture, causing more problems down the road. Due to the tightly woven nature of wicker, a small brush can really help you get into the cracks for a deeper clean. Be sure to also remove all cushions from your furniture before cleaning. Mixing your cleaning solution: Next, you should prepare your cleaning solution. Our care kits have this solution already prepared, but you can also use a drop of washing up liquid with warm water in a pinch. Scrub the material: With your solution ready, use a small amount to clean the brush you used previously, before applying it directly to the wicker furniture. Depending on how tough the bristles are on your brush, you may need to apply less pressure to avoid damaging the delicate wicker material. We advise that you work from the top downwards, as this will ensure you cover every exposed element. Rinse: After your first pass with a brush, take a clean cloth and dip it into some clean cold water. After ringing the cloth until it’s damp, wipe down any dirt you left behind. Let it dry: Once you’re satisfied with how clean your wicker furniture is, it’s time to leave it completely dry. You can speed this process up slightly by running over any wet surfaces with a dry cloth. Protect: This final step is optional, but we highly recommend it. If using our wicker and rattan care kit, make sure you apply the water repellent protector after your furniture is dry. This solution will improve your furniture’s resistance to accidental spills, prolonging its life. Wicker Furniture Maintenance Tips Pictured Charlbury Corner Set In addition to the above cleaning steps, there are a few additional measures you can take in between deep cleans to prolong the life of your wicker garden furniture: Avoid Excess Moisture Exposing wicker garden furniture to excessive moisture can cause the material to expand and deform. Therefore, it’s recommended to not leave it out in the rain or particularly damp environments for extended periods. If possible, move your wicker garden furniture in doors, or shield it with a protective cover. Clean Up Spills Promptly Knowing that wicker furniture doesn’t fare well when overexposed to liquids, it’s important that you wipe up any accidental spills or splashes as soon as possible. If left long enough, the liquid can penetrate any protective coatings you apply to the material, inevitably causing expansion. Store Correctly As weather conditions are unpredictable, it’s a good idea to store your wicker garden furniture in off-seasons. To prevent temperature shock, ensure your wicker furniture is kept in a well-ventilated, cool room. How Often Should You Clean Wicker Garden Furniture? Thankfully, wicker garden furniture is resistant to the scrapes, spills, and scuffs of daily life. Therefore, the rate at which you clean it mostly depends on how well you look after it. With the correct level of care and maintenance, you should only really need to deep clean wicker garden furniture once a year. In between deep cleans, it’s always a good idea to wipe wicker furniture down lightly with a damp cloth. How Long Does Wicker Garden Furniture Last? It’s hard to give a definitive answer around how long wicker garden furniture lasts. Different sets are exposed to different levels of use, making a full prediction tricky. For the materials themselves, wicker garden furniture can last as long as 20 years with frequent use. The best way of ensuring your wicker furniture lasts this long is to follow our above cleaning steps in addition to keeping it covered when not in use. Thankfully, we sell a variety of garden furniture covers that are all custom-made for a perfect fit. Metal Garden Furniture Care Guide
Metal Garden Furniture Care Guide
14th March 2025
For the ultimate mix of reliability and style, metal garden furniture is a popular choice. Metal garden furniture avoids the plethora of pitfalls faced by more natural materials; positioning itself as a dependable material for your outdoor entertainment needs. Available in a wide variety of styles and designs, it’s versatile enough to be used across all kinds of design schemes, while continuing to last the test of time. However, metal garden furniture isn’t indestructible, so it needs the occasional bit of cleaning and maintenance. In this guide, we’ll show you how to keep your furniture looking good as new, showcasing some of the tools you’ll need, the steps to take, and some additional tips along the way. Things You’ll need: Metal furniture can be tricky to clean, depending on its condition. Therefore, you’ll need a variety of tools, including: 1x Soft brush Damp cloth or sponge Warm soapy water Dry cloth Gloves (optional) How to Clean Metal Garden Furniture Pictured Savita Range To clean metal garden furniture, follow these steps: Brush: Start by removing any loose dirt or debris from the surface of the furniture using a soft-bristled brush or a clean cloth. Mix: Next, mix a solution of mild soap and water in a bucket. You can use a few drops of dishwashing liquid or a specialised metal cleaner designed for use on outdoor furniture. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the Thermoguard coating. Apply: Dip a soft sponge or cloth into the cleaning solution and wring out the excess water. Then, use the damp cloth to gently scrub the surface of the furniture, paying special attention to any areas that are particularly dirty or stained. Rinse: Once you’ve cleaned the entire surface, rinse the furniture thoroughly with a hose or a bucket of clean water. Be sure to remove all traces of soap or cleaner, as any residue left on the surface can cause damage to the Thermoguard coating over time. Dry: Finally, allow the furniture to air dry completely before using it again. Avoid using any towels or cloths to dry the surface, as they can leave behind lint or fibres that can damage the coating. How To Clean Rust Off Metal Garden Furniture If your metal garden furniture is out of warranty and starting to show signs of rust, there are ways of bringing it back to life: Rust removal: Start by removing any loose rust or paint with a wire brush or sandpaper. Use a coarse grit sandpaper to remove any rust that is flaking or loose. Clean: Next, clean the surface of the furniture with a mixture of warm water and mild detergent. You can use a sponge or cloth to scrub the surface and remove any remaining dirt, debris or loose rust. Rinse: Rinse the surface with water and dry it completely with a towel or cloth. Treat: If there is any remaining rust on the surface, you can use a rust treatment solution to neutralise it. Rust treatment solution chemically ensures that the rust is stopped from spreading and that it can be painted over. Sand: After the rust treatment has dried, you can sand the surface again with a fine grit sandpaper to smooth out any rough spots or raised areas. Prime: Once the surface is clean and smooth, you can apply a metal primer to prepare the surface for painting. A metal primer will help the paint adhere to the surface and provide an additional layer of protection against rust. Paint: Finally, you can apply a coat of paint or a new layer of Thermoguard coating. (available to purchase from our website in 5ml bottles) to protect the furniture from future rust and weather damage. If you are treating large areas of rust then you may wish to source a suitable outdoor metal paint from your local DIY store. Metal Furniture Maintenance Tips Pictures Café Roma Bistro Set To keep your metal furniture free of rust, debris, and general grime, follow these maintenance tips to use in between cleaning sessions: Rinse Occasionally The water from your hose is different to rainwater. Rainwater is slightly more acidic thanks to the additional carbon dioxide added via the atmosphere. Acidic water is known to speed up the oxidation (rusting) process on metal garden furniture. So, if your furniture has accidentally been exposed to rainwater, it’s a good idea to rinse the water off with a source of clean, pH-neutral water such as from your own water supply. Keep Dry After rinsing your metal garden furniture, the number one step you can take to protect it from rust is to keep it dry. Using either a small cloth or large, dry towel, simply pat the furniture completely dry and the risk of rust will be significantly reduced. Use Wax/Oil As an additional precaution, you can even coat your metal garden furniture in either specialised waxes or oils. Such things will form a protective outer barrier that defends against rust, spills, etc. How Often Should You Clean Metal Garden Furniture? Metal furniture is fairly robust, meaning that its cleaning frequency is mainly dictated by how dirty it is. If you keep on top of the above maintenance procedures, it’s highly unlikely that you’d need to clean your metal furniture more than 3-5 times a year. This frequency can increase in the summer periods, where your furniture is prone to more use. How Long Does Metal Garden Furniture Last? Metal furniture is tough and resilient, so with proper care, you can expect your metal garden furniture to last as long as 10-15 years. Wood Garden Furniture Care Guide
Wood Garden Furniture Care Guide
14th March 2025
There’s just something about wood garden furniture that oozes relaxation and comfort. Its rustic texture and colouring helps promote a homely atmosphere that’s perfect for any natural outdoor space. Versatile, durable and long-lasting, wood furniture is an excellent choice for relaxation or utility use. However, like many other types of garden furniture, wood garden furniture demands the correct level of care and maintenance to ensure many years of use. Sometimes, it’s hard to know exactly what you should do to keep your wood furniture in its best condition; but we’re here to help. Here, we’ll discuss the tools and processes needed for cleaning wood garden furniture, along with some additional tricks to prolong its lifespan. Things You’ll Need: Looking after wood furniture requires some simple pieces of equipment: Soft-bristled brush Damp cloth or sponge Sandpaper (optional) Warm soapy water Dry cloth Gloves Wood stain (optional) Kettler Hardwood Cleaner & Colour Restorer (recommended) Kettler Hardwood Shield – Clear (recommended) Due to the workable nature of wood, wooden garden furniture maintenance is much more straightforward than other materials. Some of it can be accomplished with household items, but other tools like sandpaper and wood stains can be used if your wood furniture needs restoration. How to Clean Wood Garden Furniture By far the easiest way to continually maintain your wooden garden furniture is by using a specialised cleaning and protection kit. Thankfully, at KETTLER, we have exactly that. Our Hardwood Cleaner and Restorer is 100% water-based, with no hidden, harmful chemicals. This makes it an eco-friendly alternative that provides just as much cleaning power. Our heavy duty formula also incorporates specialised nanotechnology to introduce water and dirt resistance to your furniture, making it look better and last longer. After cleaning, our Hardwood Shield can be used to give even more protection to your wooden furniture. Inside this formula is a mould and mildew inhibitor – a great addition to any piece of wooden garden furniture that’ll ensure it lasts for many years to come. Just like our hardwood cleaner, it is 100% water based with no harmful chemicals inside and suitable for use on all wood including Acacia, Eucalyptus and Teak Wood. To clean wood garden furniture, follow these steps: Preparation: Kettler furniture is designed to be left outdoors all year round (excluding cushions). The first step is to remove any outdoor cushions or decorative accessories from your wood furniture. Any loose debris can be removed with a brush or broom. Dust: Remove dust regularly with a clean soft brush and wipe down with a clean damp cloth. Tree sap and bird droppings should be cleaned off immediately with warm soapy water.a. For tables – Use pads, mats and coasters under plates, glasses cups etc to protect them from scratches, spills, stains and heat damage. Wipe spills immediately to prevent staining. Rinse: Once you are happy that the stains and grime have been removed, you are free to rinse the furniture free of any cleaning products. Dry: In combination with fresh air, and ideally sun exposure, you should then start to dry your wood furniture by wiping it all over with a dry cloth/towel. Be sure to get the furniture completely dry, as left over moisture could get trapped after the next step. How To Treat Wooden Garden Furniture With your wooden garden furniture nice and clean, now comes the time to treat it. If you haven’t protected it with an outer coating yet, you’re in luck. This is the best time to treat your wooden furniture, as it’ll allow you to dig right down into the material and rid it of any hidden contaminants. Wood Furniture Treating Process Ensure the product is clean. If the product is clean, you can go straight to stage 2. Cleaner is only required if it hasn’t been treated for 6-12 months. Ensure the product is clean: If the product is clean, you can go straight to stage two . Cleaner is only required if treatment hasn’t been applied for 6-12 months. Apply: Your application method depends on the type of wood you’re treating. We recommend applying these treatments twice a year (once in April, once in October) with a soft cloth.a. White wood: For white wood furniture, like our Cora range, apply a thin layer of Instant Smoke White Protector.b. Light oak: For more traditional wood finishes, we recommend using a thin layer of Hardwood Colour Protector. Dry: Allow to dry for one hour for the treatment to fully work its way into the wood material. Then, allow for a further 48 hours before exposing the wood to rainfall. Wood Furniture Maintenance Tips Pictured: Hampton Lounge Set While a deep clean is a good idea every so often, it’s not something you’ll want to do all the time. Here are a few things you can do in between those deep cleans to keep your wood furniture in top shape: Use Coasters and Placemats Unfortunately, wood garden furniture stains relatively easily. Water rings especially are one of the largest culprits for this, which is why we strongly recommend that you use coasters and placemats whenever possible while dining. Avoid Direct Sunlight In direct sunlight, wood garden furniture can begin to change colour in an uneven manner. This may be rectified by moving your arrangements every so often to evenly distribute the bleaching effect or negate it entirely. Keep Screws and Bolts Tight and Lubricated This maintenance tip depends on how your wooden furniture is constructed, but if you find any loose bolts or screws on your furniture, we recommend tightening them up to keep everything connected. Over time, loose bolts may cause the wood to warp or become unstable. In addition, it’s important that locking mechanisms, catches and joints are lubricated where necessary. This helps reduce friction, and ensures more structural rigidity. Store Correctly During winter/wetter months, your wooden furniture should be stored in a cool, dry and well-ventilated location to prevent excessive shrinkage or expansion of the wood. Alternatively, you can cover the furniture with a Kettler tailored cover (where available) or use a universal breathable cover. If you do opt for a cover, make sure that there’s some breathing space between the cover and your furniture itself. To do this, you can place one of our Tent Poles on top of the furniture before draping the covers on top. How Often Should You Clean Wood Garden Furniture? Despite how strong and resilient wooden garden furniture is, it does fall into the more involved maintenance category over the course of a year. We expect you to clean your wooden furniture at least two times a year, with a deeper clean often being needed after the winter months. You should then factor in the remaining few cleans to account for spills and debris accrued over the summer months of outdoor entertainment. How Long Does Wood Garden Furniture Last? Buyers should think of wooden garden furniture as more of an investment. With the correct level of care, cleanliness and maintenance, there’s nothing stopping your wooden garden furniture lasting an entire lifetime’s worth of use. Some woods are less rigid than others, with softer woods tending to last around five to ten years, and harder, heavier woods lasting anywhere from ten years and beyond. Remember, wood furniture tends to be generally easily recycled. When your wood furniture has run its course, please dispose responsibly. How to Clean and Protect Your Garden Cushions
How to Clean and Protect Your Garden Cushions
14th March 2025
The cushions we use on our garden furniture get exposed to all sorts of elements and potential hazards. Spills, compressions, and the accidental splash of rain are all too common for our outdoor cushions, so it’s important to keep them well maintained. Of course, no one wants this to happen to their precious cushions. After all, they are a staple of comfort and relaxation, so keeping them clean and hygienic is paramount to enjoying their full benefits. Thankfully, keeping your outdoor garden cushions clean is a simple task. From restoring old cushions to keeping them protected in the future, this guide will run through some of the recommended ways of ensuring your cushions last as long as they should. What Can You Use To Clean Garden Cushions? By far the best way to keep your outdoor cushions clean is to use a specialised cleaning solution, like the ones included in our Fabric, Rope and Upholstery Complete Care Kit. The kit includes two scrubbing pads, a fabric cleaner/protector and three application cloths. With built-in nanotechnology, the fabric protection spray provides a protective shield around the entire cushion, leaving it less susceptible to accidents. The included sprays are 100% water based, meaning less hazardous chemicals and a more environmentally friendly cleaning solution. Feel free to use it on more than just your cushions; this kit is great for fabric sofas, rope, upholstery, and parasol canopies. How to Clean Garden Cushions: With our kit, cleaning your garden cushions couldn’t be simpler: Dust: Start by removing any loose dust and debris from your cushions by patting them down and shaking. Spray: On a small cloth, or with the included sponge, spray two to three squirts of our fabric cleaner and work into the cushion in a circular motion. Be sure to get both sides evenly. Dry: After cleaning, allow your cushions to dry for at least one hour, ideally in sunlight. Protect: Once dry, apply an even coat of our fabric protector directly to the cushions. Again, make sure you apply this evenly to ensure all-round protection. How to Keep Outdoor Cushions Clean While cleaning your garden cushions is a good idea every once in a while, it’s not something you’ll want to do all the time. Here’s how to reduce your reliance on cleaning: Dust/Vacuum Regularly Crumbs, dust, and dirt are all commonly found on outdoor cushions. One way of avoiding this is to give your cushions a quick vacuum or dusting regularly. Shaking and patting them down after a lot of use is enough, so don’t feel the need to go overboard. Avoid Spills When Possible This next tip is a little more difficult, especially given that cushions are usually right next to us when we’re relaxing with a glass of wine. However, when you notice a spill, you need to act fast with your cushions. Leaving the spill can result in tricky stains that are tough to remove. Blot them dry, soak up what you can, and flush out the remaining liquid with clean water, being careful to not oversaturate the material. After that, leave it to dry and the risks of staining are significantly reduced. Store Correctly Remember, most garden cushions cannot be left outside all year long. That’s why we recommend storing your cushions in a cool, dry place when they’re not in use. If indoors isn’t an option, we recommend using one of our garden cushion storage boxes. Our Large Aluminium Storage Box, for example, is protected via a powder coat to create a protective barrier against any potential rust, allowing it to be kept outside even during heavy rain. The Kettler wicker range is made from synthetic rattan which maintains the aesthetic qualities of natural rattan but will not deteriorate in the same way. The wicker is UV resistant however with prolonged exposure to the sun, some fading may occur.

The frame for all Kettler wicker furniture is made from high quality aluminium square tube frame and is completely rustproof.

We always recommend the use of coasters when dining outdoors on Kettler garden furniture. If hot glasses or plates are placed on the table top this may cause damage to the surface. Furthermore, in certain conditions sunlight can be magnified via drink glasses resulting in burn marks on the table top.

The Palma Glass top table is suitable to be kept outdoors all year round. However, if there is a risk of anything falling on the glass top like a tree branch then we advise storing the table in a safe place.

To protect your wicker garden furniture from tree sap and general garden dirt a protective cover is recommended. These can be purchased online here.

Over time wood furniture may start spitting as it dries out through the seasons. This is part of the natural weathering process. To prevent this we recommend using the Kettler Hardwood Protector at the beginning of the season to help restore the woods natural oils.

This could be due to using an oil-based wood protector, which we do not recommend. We would suggest lightly sanding it down and then applying the Kettler Hardwood Protector which is water based. Alternatively, you can leave it to weather naturally.

The storage instructions vary for each product. Please follow the care & maintenance instructions you receive with the product.

This is the natural weathering process for any wood furniture, it does not affect the strength or durability of the product. To prevent this process you can apply the Kettler Hardwood colour protector once a year.

Kettler wood furniture can be left outdoors all year round to weather naturally. However, if you want to keep your wood furniture in its original condition then we only recommend the use of the tailormade protective covers which are breathable and allow air to circulate around the furniture to prevent the build up of mould.
You can purchase custom made protective covers for your Kettler wood furniture online by clicking here.

We recommend the following cleaning regime using Kettler wood aftercare treatment to keep the furniture maintained and looking its best:
Kettler Hardwood Cleaner– during the Spring (once a year)
Kettler Hardwood Colour Protector– during the Spring (once a year)
Kettler Hardwood Shield– Spring and Autumn (2-3 times a year)

Yes- it is possible to buy spare cushions. Email sales@kettler.co.uk for pricing and availability.

To remove any stains or marks from your cushion covers we advise using the Kettler Fabric Complete Care Kit.

When cushions get wet, the fire retardancy tends to leak out of the centre of the cushion, leaving the cushion cover marked with a white chalky substance. Sometimes this is removeable however, as it can stain, we strongly advise not allowing the cushions to get wet.

During long periods of non-use we advise that the cushions are stored in a dry, well-ventilated space.

For Kettler Gas fire pit tables you will require propane gas.

No- the gas bottle needs to be purchased separately.

We advise periodically cleaning the firepit by removing the lava rocks and cleaning any loose debris from around the burners.

If you have the ability to store the firepit inside when not in frequent use, then this is the best way to protect it from winter weather. However, if you are unable to store this inside then we recommend that you purchase a protective cover for the table.

Yes- it is possible to purchase more lava rocks. Email sales@kettler.co.uk to check availability and pricing.

The Kettler Firepits have been manufactured purely for heat and aesthetic purposes. None of the Kettler firepits are suitable to be used as a way of cooking food.
