There’s nothing like a homemade pizza. You can go to a restaurant on the Amalfi Coast and order a finely made plate of it with all the local fixings like truffles, olive oil and fresh basil, but it will pale in comparison to one made by your fair hands. Bite into it, and you can taste the effort and fun poured into the pizza, enjoyed around the patio table with your loved ones as conversation fills the air. These moments can only be achieved with a pizza oven, and don’t think it’s all it can do – these ovens provide a unique cooking option beyond just pizza.
There’s a lot more to learn if you’re considering buying a pizza oven for your garden space. In this guide, we’ll take you through everything you need to consider, Having a hard time knowing the difference between electric and gas pizza ovens? We have the answers right here for you.
Explore our range of pizza ovens today, and cook up restaurant-style pizza in two minutes flat.
What to Consider When Buying a Pizza Oven
What Will You Cook In Your Pizza Oven? The most important question when buying anything is: will you get enough use out of it to warrant getting it? You may think that while pizza is amazing, you’re not going to be having it so often as to have a pizza oven. However, our ovens are more versatile than you think. Other meals can be whipped up all inside the oven, from fish and steaks to vegetables and even baked goods like bread. You could even turn the temperature down and slow-cook lamb, where the controlled fire will give it a smoked flavour that you cannot get from a conventional oven.
What Else You Need to Operate Your Pizza Oven
With the right equipment alongside your pizza oven, operating it will be a breeze. To find detailed instructions on how to use your Cozze pizza oven, consult our guide.
Here is a checklist of what you need to use your pizza oven to the fullest:
Pizza Stone – on top of which the pizza is baked (if one isn’t provided with their pizza oven – Cozze pizza ovens include a pizza stone as standard)
Pizza Peel or Paddle – to lift and turn the pizza
Thermometer – to monitor temperature
Oven Door – to cover the fire and retain heat (appliable only to electric pizza ovens – Cozze electric pizza ovens include an oven door as standard)
Cooking rack – to cool the pizza once out of the oven
Grill Brush – to clean pizza oven
At Kettler, we bundle many of the accessories you need with our pizza ovens, such as a ready-to-use pizza stone. Our electric and gas pizza ovens come equipped with a built-in thermometer (the former also has digital heat control), as well as a front door to cover the heat and fire inside, just like a master pizzaiolo. If you wish to match your oven with equally premium-feeling equipment such as pizza paddles or cast iron pans, browse our range of pizza oven accessories.
Where Will You Put and Store Your Pizza Oven?
It’s one thing to want a pizza oven, but finding the right space for it is essential. Luckily, our Cozze pizza ovens are designed to be used anywhere in the garden, no matter how much space you have. Their sleek, letterbox-like design not only looks almost as fantastic as the food inside, but is compact enough to fit comfortable on a small outdoor kitchen table or a wheeled stand, allowing for easy portability. Cozze’s outdoor kitchen units make getting everything you need simple, providing a complete, all-in-one set.
When you’re not using the pizza oven, proper storage is imperative to keep it in top condition. The lightweight and size-efficient construction of our ovens make it simple to slot away into a large kitchen cupboard, but if you plan on leaving it outdoors, we recommend protecting it from the elements with one of our durable Oxford fabric covers, which are made specifically for our models.
What’s the Best Type of Pizza Oven: Gas, Electric or Wood?
Gas Pizza Oven
Pros:
Quick preheat (around 20 minutes) and fast cooking (2 minutes once preheated).
Generally more affordable to power due to gas bottle use.
Offers a classic cooking experience with an analogue temperature gauge.
Provides a more authentic pizza-baking feel.
Cons:
Requires a gas bottle for operation.
Analogue thermometer may be less precise or convenient for some users.
Electric Pizza Oven
Pros:
Similar quick preheat and cooking times as gas ovens.
Easier to use and maintain, no need for gas bottles.
Comes with a digital thermometer for more precise temperature control.
More convenient for indoor use, just needs a power socket.
Cons:
Typically more expensive to power than gas ovens.
Lacks the traditional cooking experience of gas or wood ovens.
Wood Pizza Oven
Pros:
Delivers an intense, smoky flavour for an authentic, rustic pizza experience.
Ideal for traditionalists who want to replicate restaurant-style wood-fired pizzas.
Cons:
Requires significant masonry work and is much more expensive.
Takes up considerable space, usually only feasible for those with a large garden.
Less portable and harder to manage than gas or electric alternatives.
By far the two most popular types are gas and electric, as wood-fire ovens are endearingly traditional, but the masonry work required to have a wooden pizza oven makes it a far more expensive fixture rather than the cost-effective portable options out there.
Gas and electric pizza ovens are very similar. Both take around 20 minutes to preheat and a further two minutes to cook the pizza. However, the key difference is in the input – electric ovens need a power socket and gas ovens require a gas bottle. Generally, this means the gas pizza oven is more affordable to power. This also impacts how temperature is displayed; electric versions come with a digital thermometer, while gas pizza ovens use an analogue gauge.
If you desire the classic feel to your pizza baking, go for gas, but for convenience, electric pizza ovens are generally easier to handle without the need for a gas bottle. For an intensely smokey flavour, go for wood if you have the budget and garden space, but let’s face it – not many do.
Choosing Your Pizza Stone: Stationary or Rotating?
Your pizza stone is the resting spot for your pizza while it is in the oven, able to cook the bottom without sticking, making for that all-important satisfying crisp. Pizza stones can be stationary or rotating, depending on which you find simplest.
To turn a pizza using a stationary stone, use a pizza peel to dig underneath the pizza and lift it. Using a rotary pizza peel such as those in our range will make it much easier to spin the pizza so a different side gets a turn right underneath the fire, ensuring an even bake.
If you can’t quite get the hang of using a stationary pizza stone, a rotating pizza stone may be easier for you. As the name suggests, the stone is able to spin 360 degrees independently, meaning rather than digging underneath the pizza, the stone rotates automatically.
At Kettler, all our pizza ovens come equipped with an LFGB-approved cordierite pizza stone. This approval means it is safe for food contact, and what’s more, these stones provide excellent heat retention and distribution, so you can get that leopard-spotted effect and crispy bottom all around your pizza.

It’s no wonder why rattan is one of the most timeless materials for garden furniture. With the best quality rattan furniture, you can transform your garden into a sanctuary that marries elegance and longevity. Sun-soaked brunches or twilight soirées become brighter and more chic around a rattan garden table and chairs, where laughter flows as easily as the refreshments. Better still, certain types of rattan can be used for weatherproof garden furniture that ensures that sudden showers are no spoiler, offering you unending enjoyment with minimal upkeep. Let us help you create memories that last with our beautiful, durable rattan furniture collections.
What Makes Rattan Furniture Great?
Rattan garden tables and chairs are fantastic for a homely aesthetic, giving the impression that your furniture is made of the very nature that surrounds your garden. The initial revival of rattan furniture in the 60s was born out of a desire to return to a Victorian-era style, filling living rooms with ornate details and fibrous textures. Today, that yearning for a simpler time can be seen in cottage gardens across the country. For more information on the history of rattan furniture, read our deep dive into wicker vs rattan.
However, at Kettler, we use synthetic rattan for our furniture, to offer additional longevity complimented with the all-natural appearance of real rattan. Pure rattan does not fare well against rain, snow, and sunlight, but by using synthetic rattan, our furniture is weatherproof and resistant to UV radiation. This means that for the first time, you can now enjoy quality rattan furniture outdoors and leave it out all year round (however, you will need to bring cushions inside, as even with their waterproof qualities, they lose their lustre if kept outdoors for a long time).

In the UK, the garden has been changing. Since we were all cooped up in our homes in 2020, people have started to want to make their gardens more than just a leisure space. They now want a place that makes everyday activities a social occasion, a pleasure amongst the picturesque natural haven of your backyard, and for the best of times.
Creating an outdoor kitchen is a brilliant way to transform your garden into a vibrant space for both everyday activities and social gatherings. Imagine cooking up a feast while chatting with friends, similar to a BBQ get-together, but with the ability to prepare a smorgasbord of meals and small eats, not just the juicy, chargrilled meats.
Watched the Beckham documentary on Netflix recently? Then you’ll have seen David Beckham using it in action: a lavish, beautiful space for solo endeavours to whip up breakfast for the family, or a hybrid space for cooking and social engagement in a way that an indoor kitchen rarely is.
Your outdoor kitchen setup does not have to be as flashy as the multi-millionaire footballer, however. An outdoor kitchen can range from a simple BBQ setup to a fully equipped culinary haven with food prep units, cupboards and even drinks coolers. It can even be a covered space for those sceptical about the UK’s unpredictable weather, so you can make outdoor cooking a year-round adventure.
If you want to build a BBQ area or any outdoor kitchen setup, here are some ideas and a guide to making it. This guide will inform you of all the essential aspects to consider, from planning and budgeting to selecting the right equipment and materials. Whether you want to create a simple grill station or a comprehensive outdoor kitchen, you’ll find the information you need to make your very own grill island for the best of times.
How to Build an Outdoor Kitchen
Before you start diving into your new kitchen space, it’s vital to consider a few aspects to avoid problems later down the road. Here is what you need to know:
Assessing Your Budget
The first step in creating your outdoor kitchen is to set a budget. Any outdoor kitchen plan should prioritise the budget to ensure that the project remains affordable.
At Kettler, our modular outdoor kitchen stations are perfect for this, as they allow you to expand your kitchen over time seamlessly. This flexibility ensures that you can start small and add more features as your budget allows, making the process both manageable and means it will become more enjoyable as time goes on, not less.
Factoring in Your Garden Size
Shape your outdoor kitchen around your garden, not the other way around. Outdoor kitchens work well when placed against a wall, offering protection from the elements and freeing up more floor space for tables and chairs. Depending on the available space, you might opt for an L-shape or galley-style design. It’s also wise to position the kitchen relatively close to your indoor kitchen as you’ll be heading in to grab ingredients and crockery often, though this isn’t strictly necessary. The size of your garden will greatly impact the layout of your outdoor kitchen, but even a modest garden can accommodate a wealth of cooking riches.
Storage Options
Storage is a crucial element of an outdoor kitchen, especially if you plan on using a gas BBQ which will need a gas bottle attached. You’ll also need space to store utensils, cooking ingredients, and perhaps even outdoor crockery.
At Kettler, our outdoor kitchen stations come with built-in cupboards, offering ample storage solutions that keep your space tidy and organised. The sheer amount of utility of this outdoor cooking station will continually offer convenience when you need it. Its ultra-wide countertop makes for robust preparing, cooking and serving of pizzas, meat, or a free choice of dishes. These stations come in single, double, and triple-door modules and can be wheeled and locked into place.
Each station is fitted with a premium-quality stainless steel table top suitable for a pizza oven, electric grill, or plancha grill, making it a culinary powerhouse. There is also a specialised cabinet for stowing away the gas bottle discreetly, and the larger cabinet can hold two gas bottles, allowing you to create more advanced dishes such as curries, stews, stroganoffs, and more on the grills. A built-in waste bin lets you quickly throw any rubbish away, and you can hang your cooking utensils and cleaning cloths inside the door, keeping everything neat and accessible. Best of all, this is done discreetly so that you and your guests can put full focus on the food.
Designing Your Outdoor Kitchen
When designing your kitchen, consider whether you’ll keep it under a canopy or pergola or leave it open. While a canopy provides protection and allows for use in any weather, an open setup offers a more spacious feel. Either way, we recommend using tailored protective covers to preserve the quality of your equipment.
When planning your layout, consider both functionality and aesthetics. Typically, the cooker is positioned in the centre with side panels for easy access to all workspaces, ensuring that you can move between spaces fluidly without having to move far away from the BBQ or cooker. A three-bay setup is ideal for this, and even our one-door kitchen stations have fold-out tables that give you a space-conscious three-bay setup. There’s no setup required, simply roll it out to where you need it to prepare meals just as you would in the house.
Building Your Kitchen Area
If you are looking to build an outdoor kitchen with a wood frame, brick, or cinder blocks, you should get a quote from a professional to ensure that the job is done to a good standard. If you prefer to leave it open or have a simple canopy, then this can be done by hand. To set up an outdoor kitchen canopy using one of our panalsol pergolas, consult the assembly guide. We recommend that it requires four people.
The best way to build an inexpensive outdoor kitchen is to have a simple canopy, use recycled materials such as wooden pallets, old decking, bricks or stone, or leave it to the elements. The good news is that even if you build a canopy, you typically won’t need planning permission as it is not considered a permanent structure, so you can get to the building straight away. You should check your local area’s height restrictions and structure rulings, though.
The construction of your outdoor kitchen can be straightforward with the right materials and planning. Using durable materials that withstand the elements is essential. For instance, stainless steel is an excellent choice for outdoor kitchens due to its robustness and resistance to rust. There is an alternative option which avoids any construction – buying the Cozze Outdoor kitchen units, which can provide you with your very own workstation in the garden with no construction needed.
If you’re planning on having a cooler or electric BBQ, you will need an appropriate power socket outside. Contact an electrician about placing an outside outlet. We offer a range of energy-efficient electric pizza ovens, grills and planchas.
What Can You Cook With In Your Outdoor Kitchen?
When planning your outdoor kitchen, consider the various cooking options available, such as BBQs, Planchas, or pizza ovens. Here are some popular choices:
BBQ
Building a BBQ area is a classic choice for any outdoor kitchen. The signature smoky taste of BBQ is something we all aspire to create. Whether you prefer charcoal, gas, or wood-fired options, a quality BBQ will serve as the centrepiece for grilling everything from burgers to skewers and vegetables. These BBQs pair exceptionally well with our outdoor kitchen tables.
Plancha
For those with limited space, a Cozze Plancha grill is a marvel. Quick to heat up, easy to manage and perfect for searing everything from meat to veggies, it keeps the cooking casual but the flavours intense. Crafted with an enamelled cast iron grill plate, it’s a portable, versatile grill that allows you to create meals from breakfast fry-ups to dinners with fish and burgers. It’s compact size and efficient heating make it an excellent choice for any outdoor kitchen area, and is ideal for our outdoor kitchen tables with wheels.
Pizza Oven
Our tabletop pizza ovens are more versatile than meets the eye. With its rotary pizza stone and powerful heating quality which can bake a pizza in two minutes, you can also cook fish, steak, vegetables, and even bake bread. It comes with a front door that slots in to cover the heat and fire inside, just like the master pizza crafters in Italy do it. Plus, their sleek letterbox-like design is easy on the eye and equally easy to place on top of a small outdoor kitchen table with wheels. These ovens provide a unique cooking option that goes beyond just pizza.
Additional Outdoor Kitchen Ideas
It’s the finishing touches that really bring an outdoor kitchen to life. Fixed lighting, especially if it’s undercover, can create a welcoming atmosphere for evening gatherings. Add decorations that you couldn’t in an indoor kitchen to place in the garden, such as plant pots on the floor on either side of the workstation, garden ornaments, and water features. These additional elements not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of your outdoor kitchen but also make it a more functional and enjoyable space.

When considering garden must-haves, a parasol undoubtedly is somewhere at the top of the list. Picture the joy of gathering under its shade, sharing laughter and meals with friends and family, with no strain on the eyes or fears of the young ones getting sunburnt.
Choosing the perfect shape for your garden can make all the difference in creating an inviting and comfortable outdoor space. But how do you decide on the best shape? It’s a crucial decision that impacts not just the look, but also the effectiveness of your outdoor shading. That’s what this guide is all about – exploring the key considerations to help you find the right shape of parasol for your garden.
What to Consider When Choosing Your Garden Parasol
Firstly, think about how you’re going to use your parasol. Are you looking to shade a large area or a specific spot like a dining table? Larger areas might benefit from square or octagonal parasols, which offer more extensive coverage. For narrow balconies, a half-balcony parasol is a smart choice, while square parasols are perfect for dining areas where you need consistent shade over a rectangular table.
Consider the space and layout of your outdoor area. Measuring the available space will give you a solid idea of how your parasol can fit in without overcrowding the area – the last thing you want is not having enough room for furniture and movement! When considering the size of your parasol, add half a metre to a metre wider than the area you want to cover. Matching the parasol shape to your space can help this greatly; square parasols work well in corners or against walls, whereas hexagonal and octagonal parasols excel in open spaces.
Additionally, it’s important to understand the difference between a cantilever parasol and a wind-up parasol. Wind-up parasols are ideal for use with dining tables and the Kettler mesh range, whereas Cantilever parasols offer more flexibility as they are free-arm and can be positioned without a central pole, making them perfect for shading lounging areas or irregular spaces.
Finally, aesthetic and design preferences play a crucial role in your decision-making and you should opt for a parasol shape that complements your décor. Square parasols have an angular and modern look, while octagonal shapes provide a classic appeal that harkens to cafes by the sea. Ensure the parasol’s colour and material align with your outdoor furniture and overall aesthetic to create a cohesive and inviting space.
Square Parasols
If you want to maximise coverage for your outdoor space, look no further than a square parasol, such as our large free-arm garden parasol. Its design is perfect for covering square or rectangular tables and seating areas, ensuring that everyone gets ample shade. Its sleek, contemporary look crafted from UV-resistant, crease-proof polyester seamlessly blends with contemporary outdoor spaces that opt for minimalism and sophistication. Plus, the straight edges mean you can place it against a wall or other structure, adding versatility to your patio configurations.
Half Parasols
Ideal for those with limited space, half parasols like the Menos ½ Balcony Parasol are a godsend. With a flat back that sits snugly against a wall or railing, it cleverly finds a solution to the common issues faced with small patios and balconies. Lighter and easier to move around than full-sized parasols, this compact option makes the most out of those cosy outdoor spots.
Wind-Up Round Parasols
Bring a touch of style and practicality to your garden with our hexagonal wind-up parasol. Its shape suits both round and square spaces and offers a showstopping blend of both classic and en-vogue looks. With fewer sides than an octagon, it means that the individual panels are larger, providing slightly better wind resistance while still giving ample shade. Plus, at Kettler, our round mesh tables have a hole in the centre for wind-up parasols.
Octagon Free Arm Parasols
For a classic design that fits a variety of outdoor settings, an octagon parasol such as our high-tech free arm octagonal parasol with LED lighting and wireless speaker is an excellent option. It’s the best of a square and round parasol shape, its eight-sided structure providing even coverage and creating a pleasing aesthetic symmetry, particularly when paired with round tables and seating arrangements. Able to cover a larger area than most other parasols, this shape is perfect for providing extensive shade and a touch of elegance to your garden.
Which Parasol Shape is Best For You?
The answer is simple yet complicated – it truly depends on your specific needs and space. If your patio area is on the smaller side, a round dining set will be best. But the possibilities expand for larger outdoor spaces – perhaps a square or rectangular table would be more fitting.
At Kettler, we offer a high-quality array of garden parasols in all shapes and sizes, crafted from robust, shower and UV-resistant materials and on certain models, fitted with LED lights and Bluetooth speakers. Our designs not only enhance the beauty of your garden but also create an irresistible urge to spend quality time outdoors. Imagine leisurely afternoons and lively evenings in your garden, surrounded by family and friends. Our products are designed to elevate every moment.
Build Lasting Moments in Your Garden with Kettler
At Kettler, it’s been our mission since the 1960s to create outdoor furniture for the best of times. This commitment still fuels us today, and our team is here to help you find the perfect parasol to shield your outdoor space from the sun, rain and the open. It’s a testament to the enduring beauty of the Palma garden furniture collection, which has redefined how we enjoy our gardens for a full decade. At Kettler, we’ve been looking forward to marking 2025 as the decade anniversary since we first conceived of what would become our longest-standing collection.
There’s something unique about Palma. We’ve seen designs come and go, but Palma has stood the test of time. When it first came together, we perhaps didn’t know how long-lasting it would be, yet its evergreen design still continues to appeal through the last ten years of trends, advancements and lifestyle changes. We couldn’t be more proud to see it bring friends, families and homes together, providing a comforting sanctuary for the best of times.
To commemorate this milestone, let’s explore the collection in detail, take a trip back in time to see its humble beginnings and explain how it grew into the collection it is today.
Exploring the Palma Garden Furniture Collection
Since the first release of Palma, this collection has reflected the modern casual dining and lounging lifestyle, with earthly materials and colours that are equal parts sophisticated and complimentary of a British garden. All its seats and tables are made with detailed handwoven synthetic rattan, which wraps around the entirety of the set from the slightly rounded armrests to the frame of the table. No matter what combination of furniture you have, Palma is bound to attract social events.
At the core of the range lies the classic Palma Signature Corner Set. This iconic seven-seater set has slotted into gardens across the country, providing a homely, communal space that’s set the scene for thousands of catch-ups over delicious food and drink. Though this is what Palma is renowned for, over the years we have grown the range significantly with sun loungers, low lounge set, mini sets and recliners with matching footstools. Now, you can have your entire outdoor space match with the same charming design no matter your needs.
How Did the Journey Begin?
When Palma was launched to the public in 2015, it introduced the concept of casual dining to the world. For those occasions when you wish to dine without losing the feeling of relaxation from a lounge set, Palma made it possible with a premium-quality table that was made at just the right height for lounging and dining on. Presented in two colourways – Whitewash and Rattan – Palma became an immediate hit.
How Palma Garden Furniture Has Changed Over the Last 10 Years
Over the years, Kettler’s Palma garden furniture sets have been revolutionised in a number of ways. In the beginning, they were only available with a slat table until we created a glass-top table that matched the set whilst offering a more luxurious option. From there, in 2019, the range expanded to include the Palma fire pit table as part of a set, igniting new ways to create a spectacle amidst the synthetic rattan that defines the Palma look.
2021 saw the largest update to the range yet, including the addition of the Palma Daybed, Palma Signature Low Lounge, Palma Duo and Palma Sofa sets. However, the most notable difference in the range is the new colourway since the range was launched: Oyster. Evoking the pebble beaches of the British seaside with a light rattan colouring complemented by stone-coloured cushions, the Oyster colour is a refreshing contrast to those who prefer light cushions and wish to inject a little warmth into their patio.
This year, Kettler has introduced the Signature range to Palma, which adds waterproof cushions, and our famous High/Low table, which can be height adjusted in a matter of moments. It’s like having a dining table and lounge table all in one.
Over a decade of evolution, Palma continues to provide treasured moments in garden spaces across the UK, from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations. Here’s to another ten years of its versatility, timeless style and endless comfort encouraging homeowners to embrace the warmth of their outdoor space.

There’s a real pleasure in hosting a garden brunch in the summertime. A break from the usual rusharound that comes with the season, a brunch out on your patio is a more relaxed gathering, with less of the pressure that comes with an evening meal. Plus, going al fresco is a break from the everyday, as you’re able to enjoy food with loved ones while basking in the morning sun – a recipe for lasting memories to be made.
At Kettler, we’re here to help create those memories for you. From planning the perfect menu to creating a welcome atmosphere with brunch décor ideas, we’ll guide you through every step. We’ll explore ideal brunch timings, how to transform your patio into a stylish dining space and equip you with the perfect outdoor cooking tools, so you can savour delicious food with good company and warm weather in your own home.
What is the Most Common Time for Brunch?
Firstly, what time should you tell your guests to come round? Brunch is typically the time in-between breakfast and lunch, hence the portmanteau in its name. The most common times for hosting a brunch are between 11am and 1pm, but you can also stretch it to a late lunch.
Brunch Décor Ideas for Your Garden
Now we’ve established that brunch is the ideal excuse for a relaxed, sun-soaked get-together, you now need to set the scene, and a beautiful brunch table will do just that.
No brunch is complete without a quality dining set, and at Kettler, we have wood, mesh and synthetic rattan dining sets that channel the outdoors while being strong enough to withstand the outdoors all year round, though we recommend getting a protective cover which is tailor-made to each set.
Available in table designs ranging from aluminium slats to wood effect to glass tops, you can select the perfect style to suit you. Pick between the spaciousness of a square dining or the togetherness of a round dining table. For more advice on which table shape is right for you, consult our guide to choosing the best shape for your outdoor dining set. Whichever shape you choose, matching rattan or wicker serving platters will pair exquisitely with our dining sets and add a touch of natural elegance to your table.
Instead of your patio sticking out from the rest of the garden like a sore thumb, bring the garden to it in subtle ways such as a well-placed potted plant as the centrepiece of your table. With just a simple touch like this, you can make your outdoor space a seamless extension of your garden, creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere your guests will love.
How to Cook Brunch Outdoors
To truly unleash your inner culinary wisdom, you need the right equipment for the job. At Kettler, we have numerous ways to solve this issue.
Our Cozze plancha grills are portable powerhouses that let you whip up breakfast, lunch, dinner and small eats in one device. With this lightweight and easy-to-store cast iron grill, you can cook anything from bacon and eggs to sausages, fish, burgers and pancakes outdoors. Plus, its compact design is staunchly modern and is sure to impress at your brunch. It’s a sophisticated way to welcome in the divine smells and succulent flavours of your favourite cuisines one that ensures even heat distribution and a perfect cook every time.
Another alternative is a pizza oven, but not the traditional ovens you may be thinking of. A far cry from the bulky pizza ovens that require a tonne of space to operate in, modern Cozze pizza ovens are sleek and streamlined, sporting a minimalistic design that fits into any décor with poise. But it’s not form over function; with our pizza ovens, you can stone bake perfect restaurant-style pizzas at home in as little as two minutes once preheated. This is ideal for brunches with multiple guests and taste preferences, as you can rustle up different pizzas with different sauces and toppings in a matter of moments at your guests’ request.
You may think it’s a lot of equipment to create one dish, but our pizza ovens are more versatile than you think – you can use them to bake bread, and flame-cook vegetables and steaks for alternative brunch meals. You can easily bake pizza in your electric pizza oven all year round, but there is nothing like cosying up on the terrace after a hot summer’s day with a little slice of heaven cooked in the outdoor pizza oven.
What’s on a Typical Brunch Menu?
Now you have the tools to create a midday feast in your outdoor space, the next item on the agenda is what to cook for your guests. Brunch can range from a meaty fry-up to pastries to sized-down versions of what could be served at dinnertime. Thankfully, the versatility of your plancha and pizza oven allows you to experiment with various ingredients and prepare a plethora of exquisite meals that will delight your guests and your palette.
With the grill plancha, there’s no limit to what you can create. You could assemble the perfect Sunday morning brunch with a bacon and sausage fry-up with some bread rolls to hold it all together, or take your guests to an American diner and fry pancakes with a range of toppings and sauces of their choosing. Finally, the ability to fry eggs cracks open the options greatly. Nothing beats a simple dish of scrambled or poached eggs, or you could put together an omelette or even eggs benedict – you can fry the bacon that goes with it on the same plancha as you prepare a Hollandaise sauce with some melted butter, egg yolks, lemon juice, dijon mustard, salt and pepper.
On the other hand, your pizza oven could be your trusted companion for creating a spread of mini pizzas with all sorts of toppings and flavours, allowing your guests to try as they please and gravitate towards their favourites. Away from pizzas, you could deliver steak and eggs, a real hearty, greasy spoon brunch that is popular in the USA. Or if you’re in the mood for something more refined, a smoked salmon could be just the ticket to a successful brunch, especially with some asparagus and the aforementioned Hollandaise sauce. Whatever you decide, the possibilities ensure that you could have ideas for many more brunches to come.

There’s something magical about watching a movie under the stars. From drive-in cinemas to cosy backyard screenings, outdoor cinemas have become increasingly popular, especially after lockdowns kept us all inside.
Imagine this: you’re outside with your favourite people, curled up on a lounge garden set, tucked up in blankets with an action brawler, wacky comedy or heavy-hearted drama on the silver screen. How do you make this reality while not sacrificing the elegance of your garden space? Here’s how you can create your own outdoor cinema experience.
How to Make an Outdoor Cinema Screen
The first essential is a projector to display the films. While a traditional screen is an option, there’s a certain charm to a projector beaming light from behind you, making you feel closer to the experience.
There are a few ways to set up your projection area:
Classic White Bedsheet: Drape and peg a white bedsheet to a wall for a simple, cost-effective screen.
Portable Projector Screens: These are great but are usually expensive and fragile.
Deluxe Panalsol: Our Panalsols come with textile side panels that are perfect as a projector screen. These pergolas offer an adjustable roof and walls, protecting you from wind and rain, or letting you sit under the stars while you watch your favourite blockbuster.
Making Snacks
What’s a film night without delicious snacks? Our Cozze Pizza Ovens can bake a pizza in just two minutes, allowing you to provide record-fast movie treats that let you customise your toppings and can be shared around the whole group. If you are looking for more variety, our Cozze Grill Planchas are handy for making hot food like burgers, hot dogs, and potato wedges – perfect for any big-screen adventure. Plus, once the night is up, these planchas can be easily stowed away thanks to their light and space-conscious design.
Make It Comfortable
Comfort is key for a great outdoor cinema experience. Lounge sets create a plush, communal atmosphere that encourages guests to chat and enjoy each other’s company before and after the movie. At Kettler, our signature lounge sets come with a glass-top lounge table, perfect for holding drinks, food and even the projector. Meanwhile, our corner sets ensure everyone has a great view of the screen and they include side tables for extra convenience. Our ranges such as Palma and elba feature sophisticated, modern designs that add a touch of glamour while treating each guest to thick foam cushions you can sink into for an entire trilogy.
Outdoor Heating
Watching horror flicks can send a shiver down your spine, but you don’t want that to be because of the cold. Keep things toasty with our outdoor heaters. Options include patio heaters, fire pits and lantern heaters, all with gorgeous designs in matte or glossy finishes that give it the pizzazz of a Hollywood premiere. Plus, they come with remote-controlled operation, so you can adjust the temperature without leaving your seat, enhancing the atmosphere at the touch of a button.
Make Treasured Moments in Your Garden with Kettler
Whether you are looking to refresh your outdoor living space with dining sets, create a cosy corner with our lounge sets, or cook up a spectacle with our grills and ovens, Kettler is the home for garden furniture for the best of times. We’ve been making furniture for this purpose since the 1960s, and our team is happy to help with finding the right furniture for you. Have you heard about cottagecore? For the last few years, it has seeped across many facets of the online world and created a global community of young people who grow nostalgic for the wistful aesthetic of a cottage garden. The cottagecore hashtag has over 1.7m posts on TikTok, and scrolling through them, you’ll find people dressed as elves, longer videos of people baking or gardening, and shorter montage-like compilations of footage that together embody the cottagecore lifestyle.
At Kettler, we believe in creating garden furniture for the best of times and few things achieve the feeling of cosiness in the surroundings of your garden like cottagecore. If you wish to transform your outdoor space into a cottage-inspired haven, this guide will help you achieve that perfect look.
What is Cottagecore?
Cottagecore is a TikTok phenomenon comprised of videos that romanticise the idyllic rural life. How-to videos and compilations are filled with baking, arts and crafts, flower prints, plants, pottery, mushrooms and rolling fields, with themes of simpler times, tranquillity and being at one with nature. Many creators that are deep into cottagecore look as though they are trying to be Snow White, but deep down, the aesthetic is about longing for the simple things in life that put you in your own little world. Where everything seems to move a million miles a minute, the essence of cottagecore is escapism and cherishing a brief moment of respite.
Achieving the Cottagecore Aesthetic in Your Garden
Transforming your garden into a cottagecore haven involves thoughtful choices in furniture and decor. Here are some tips to help you create that charming, cosy atmosphere:
Rattan Furniture
What’s more whimsical than furniture wrapped in wicker? Our rattan furniture is made from synthetic rattan that has the tactile feel of the real thing, but with additional strengths against weather and rain, allowing you to leave it out all year round (excluding the cushions, which should be put away after use). Plus, they come with thick cushions that are double-padded to retain their shape year after year, meaning you can enjoy their comfort as you create new memories in your garden. From two-seater bistro sets to our signature corner sets which can seat up to seven, our reclining footstools to our low companion lounge chair sets, there are so many ways to incorporate this enchanting furniture into your garden.
Charlbury Design
For the most prestigious of cottage gardens, the Charlbury range offers luxury embedded into homely design. The rattan-constructed design uses rounded shapes which look like they were pulled straight out of an illustrated storybook. These shapes are practical as well as a visual treat, as it is protected by an aluminium frame which is resistant to rust, UV and the weather. If you wish to spend a moment of solace under a clear sky just listening to the wildlife in your backyard, few pieces of furniture are more suited than our Charlbury range.
Wooden Textures
Cottagecore is based around incorporating as many natural resources as possible, thus wooden surfaces and exteriors are a must. Pale brown tables such as our Cora Round Side Table – ideal for resting your mug of tea on top of – have a camouflage-like effect amongst wildflowers. So for those with a wildflower garden, wooden furniture blends seamlessly, adding warmth to your quiet cottage retreat.
Creams and Browns
Adjacent to the previous idea, using pastoral colours for furniture such as shades of cream and brown is essential to completing the cottagecore look. These colours evoke a sense of calm and blend beautifully with the natural surroundings. Pair them with flowers such as White Rose of York or Georgia Peach to compliment these colours and bring the whole scene together.

There’s a trend that’s spreading across the world like a warm summer breeze through cityscapes and countrysides alike. Boho outfits are all the rage, with over 600,000 videos using the hashtag on TikTok, but the style is so versatile that it has morphed around garden spaces, too. Boho garden design is just as likely to spark visual interest from your guests, reflecting images of flower power and a cultured, worldly lifestyle.
Boho is an aesthetic that allows you to fully indulge in textures and materials and embrace artistic chaos, but where did it first originate? And how can you achieve this look? Read on and find out how to create your own summer of love with this comprehensive style guide.
What is the Boho Style?
Boho, short for Bohemian, is a style whose origins are not entirely confirmed but is believed to be influenced by the dress wear of the travelling Romani people during the late 19th century.
The style celebrates eclectic decor and focuses on handmade materials and items with woven patterns, vibrant colours, and unique textures. It has evolved numerous times in multiple eras, most notably undergoing a modern revival thanks to the hippie movement of the 1960s. Iconic moments such as the Woodstock Festival and the Summer of Love showcased a generation co-opting the Bohemian style, forever cementing it as an aesthetic for those who wish to live freely and outside of traditions and norms.
Why Change Your Garden to a Boho Style?
Just as the Romani people travelled and collected influences from the locals wherever they roamed, the Boho style is a way to show off your nomadic lifestyle. You can showcase your cultured and spiritual side, proudly displaying the objects from the many global cultures that may have influenced you over the years, from rugs and statues to pieces of furniture from other parts of the world. It’s a place for all those trinkets you’ve been waiting to display. It’s an inspirational environment for creative and spiritual activities such as meditation, yoga, and arts and crafts sessions. It’s all of this and more.
On a practical level, the Boho style uses relatively affordable materials to achieve its vivid results, so you can wow visitors for a comparatively low price. Plus, it pairs well with many other styles, offering a large range of flexibility. And since it was first crystallised in the 19th century, the style has endured for decades and only become more prominent, making it an ageless style that won’t soon go out of fashion. It almost goes beyond trend cycles because of how it adopts individuality, creativity and the use of natural materials.
Ideas to Achieve a Boho Garden
Turning your garden into a boho-style oasis requires a wide amount of garden furniture and decor ideas. Here are some suggestions to help you cultivate a tranquil and inviting vibe:
Woven Materials
Embrace rattan and wicker for furniture and decor. Rattan furniture in particular can add to the vibe of everything being handmade whilst also being especially great for letting in just enough natural light through its woven details. At Kettler, our rattan furniture uses a synthetic alternative that is protected against the weather and can be left out all year round. From lounge sets to sofas, cushion boxes, armchairs and more, you can deck out your entire patio with premium rattan furniture that will last for many summers to come. We even have a Boho collection inspired by the intricate woven patterns of Moroccan furniture, featuring lounge sets for five, balcony sets for two and dining sets for four. Create cohesion with your rattan furniture with added wicker baskets, and natural materials such as wood, stone and clay pair well, too.
Mixing Colours and Patterns
The key to achieving a Boho style is to have multiple splashes of textiles, colours, and patterns. Find bold colours and patterns that catch the eye in fabrics and accessories such as cushions and throws, and as a general rule of thumb, the more variety, the better. Rugs are especially great at setting the tone by covering most of the floor of your outdoor space – jute rugs, Moroccan-style rugs or hand-knotted rugs all work wonderfully in a Boho garden.
Decorated Pergolas
It’s not just about what’s in front of you, but also what’s above you. Pergolas can be the centrepiece of your Boho garden, and at Kettler, our Panalsol pagodas are adjustable so you can control how much light is let in during the day. Decorate with lights for that dreamy, bohemian vibe, or consider our deluxe pergolas in white and grey which have built-in LED light controls that are remote-operated for extra convenience.
Wall Decorations
Hanging items on your fence or walls, such as mirrors, dreamcatchers, or macramé decorations, brings the cosiness of inside, outside. This continuity in design makes you feel surrounded by the aesthetic at multiple levels when you enter your outdoor space, giving a greater sense of homeliness.
Plants
Plants are a must and lots of them. Use a mix of plants with different heights, textures, and colours. Simpler, broader leaf styles like Siberian Bugloss, Monstera Deliciosa and Fiddle Leaf Figs, as well as low-maintenance succulents, are ideal. From hanging baskets to plant pots, fill every available space with greenery until you feel as though a rainforest is growing on your patio.
Comfort Items
Create different areas with cosy nooks to sit, relax, and enjoy the garden. Use an abundance of pillows, throws and cushions to add comfort and colour. These items are crucial to cultivating a Bohemian vibe because they contribute to the sense of warmth, relaxation, and laid-back luxury that defines the Boho style. By incorporating a variety of textures and patterns in these soft furnishings, you and your guests are treated to a welcoming atmosphere that is bound to spark quality social interaction and a relaxed tone.
Trinkets
To complete your magical Boho garden with a personal finish, scatter various trinkets throughout the space. Incorporate precious stones, seashells or any other natural objects you’ve collected on your travels to enhance the earthy feel. Pottery pieces can be placed on tables or side tables to add a rustic touch. Colourful garden gnomes, wind chimes and Buddha heads are also great additions that add a playfulness to the peace. These small details tie the entire aesthetic together, reflecting a vintage feel that complements the spiritual and rustic elements of a Boho garden.

Just because your garden may be small, that doesn’t mean your ideas have to be. By thinking cleverly about space and design, there are a number of creative strategies out there that can transform limited outdoor spaces into beautiful and functional retreats.
From selecting the right furniture to incorporating vertical gardening and creating cosy, secluded areas, this guide offers a wealth of tips to help you craft your small garden into an outdoor haven, brimming with charm and functionality. Read on to find out how to unlock the full potential of your garden, no matter its size.
Divide Your Garden
Think of your garden as you would your bedroom. Making distinct zones for different activities can make a world of difference in maximising space. Imagine transforming your garden with strategically placed flower beds and sleek decking, crafting separate nooks for dining and relaxation. You could split your outdoor space into a seating area for leisure time, bordered by neatly trimmed hedges that smartly divide the space between you and nature, enhancing both form and function.
Bistro Tables
When space is at a premium, choosing the right furniture is crucial to avoid overcrowding. Rather than bulky seats, opt for a chic bistro table set from Kettler. This setup not only saves space but our designs add a touch of sophisticated European flair – think of a quaint café in Paris or a breezy balcony overlooking the Mediterranean. Plus, our quality constructions mean that no matter if it is made from rattan, iron, wood or aluminium, our sets are all weatherproof and can be left outdoors all year round (excluding cushions, which should be stored away after use).
Container Gardening
Container gardening is an excellent use of natural wildlife for small spaces. Pots and planters offer the flexibility to rearrange your garden layout as needed and simplify maintenance. Additionally, plants offer the opportunity to elevate your garden by integrated vertical elements. Climbing plants like wisteria or ivy, along with vertical green walls, can draw the eye upwards, expanding the perception of space and diverting attention from the confines of the garden boundaries. Complement these with wall-mounted mirrors and hanging baskets to create depth and interest and you’ll have a garden that looks greater than the sum of its parts.
Make it Secluded
You don’t have to sacrifice having a private nook away from the world just because you have a small garden. Introduce a Pagoda to create a secluded spot for relaxation. A pagoda adheres to two of our previous points: it divides and defines part of the space in your garden and it creates that vertical interest which is important for creating the illusion of size. Our Pagodas are made with a sturdy, maintenance-free aluminium frame and give you shade that can be adjustable to your whim, sheltering you from the world for a cosy experience.
Make Cooking Miniature
Gone are the days when a massive BBQ was necessary for entertaining. Embrace compact cooking solutions like the Cozze Grill Plancha – ideal for whipping up everything from eggs to burgers. Alternatively, consider our tabletop pizza ovens, whose slim, postbox-like design blends seamlessly into modern outdoor settings. Able to bake a restaurant-style pizza in just two minutes, these pizza ovens prove that small can indeed be mighty.

In this guide, we will delve into the various types of sun loungers to help you find the perfect match for your outdoor haven. Whether you’re looking for something with ergonomic support, ease of mobility, luxurious comfort, or specific material preferences, Kettler has you covered. Additionally, we will explore how to set up the ideal sun lounging area, suggest essential accessories to enhance your relaxation experience and provide tips on maintaining your sun lounger to ensure it remains a cherished part of your garden for years to come.
What’s the Best Type of Sun Lounger?
Have you ever wondered which sun lounger would best suit your outdoor space? Consider what best enhances your relaxation, and what additional features and needs you may have. Kettler’s range ensures there’s something for everyone. Here are some of the most relaxing types of sunloungers on offer:
Recline and Relax: Most of Kettler’s sunloungers come with a reclining feature. Designed with ergonomics in mind, they support your body’s natural curves, making it easy to switch from lounging to sitting up for a read.
Ease of Movement: Our Surf Active Folding Sunlounger not only saves space but also includes rear wheels for easy shifting. Perfect for chasing the sun or moving into the shade.
Indoor Comfort, Outdoors: Models like our elba Relaxer mimic the comfort of an indoor armchair with robust aluminium frames and stain-resistant cushions.
Material Choices: Whether you prefer the natural elegance of wood in our RHS Chelsea Steamer Chair or the contemporary vibe of rattan in our Charlbury Signature Universal Sunlounger, we cater to all tastes.
Setting Up the Perfect Sun Lounging Area
Where do you envision setting up your personal relaxation nook? Location is paramount for balancing sun exposure. It should be a suntrap that catches the day’s warmth and light, yet offers a gentle breeze to keep you cool. Position your loungers in a direction that aligns with the sun’s path to harness the benefits of natural sunlight throughout the day. Set up away from any fences, walls, trees or any other tall shade-makers that may be in your garden if you wish to get the most out of the sun during the day – and get a base tan!
Think about the atmosphere you want to create. Adding personal touches can transform your garden into a sanctuary. Why not surround your lounging area with lush plants or a soothing water feature? These elements not only beautify your space but also enhance your relaxation experience.
Why not enhance your comfort with one of our Free Arm Parasols? Not only do they provide UV protection, but they also come with an integrated speaker to play your favourite tunes or audiobooks, creating the perfect ambience for relaxation. And remember, quality sunscreen and plenty of water are essential to enjoy the sun safely.
Cleaning and Maintaining Your Sun Lounger
Keeping your sun lounger in tip-top shape is simpler than you might think. Regular maintenance can extend its life and keep it looking pristine, ready for you to enjoy those sunny days in comfort and style. Here’s how you can care for your sunlounger effectively:
Cleaning the Frame
For those with synthetic rattan models from Kettler, a yearly wash with warm soapy water and regular dusting is all it takes to keep them looking great. Wood lovers, apply the Kettler hardwood cleaner and protector twice a year, and a few minutes of care will maintain the natural beauty of your furniture for years to come.
Protecting Your Cushions
While our weatherproof cushions are built to last, covering them when not in use ensures they are in immaculate condition for even longer. If caught in a shower, they dry out pretty quickly, but storing them in a dry place over winter is wise to extend their life.
Accessorise Your Sun Lounger
Have you considered the accessories that could enhance your lounging experience? A side table like our Mali Low Lounge Table could be the perfect companion to your sun lounger, keeping drinks and snacks within easy reach no matter how low you’re reclining. And why not lay down an outdoor rug for that extra touch of homeliness right at your feet?
Invest in a stylish outdoor storage box to keep your sun lounger cushions and other accessories safe and dry when not in use. Our garden storage boxes keep everything in one place and in perfect condition, all while adding a touch of elegance to your surroundings. Our large rattan cushion box is the ideal place to store your sun lounger cushions when not in use, and it aesthetically matches our rattan sun lounger models perfectly.

When it comes to selecting the perfect outdoor dining set, the shape of the table can significantly influence the overall dining experience. Whether you are hosting a large family gathering or enjoying an intimate meal under the stars, choosing the right shape can either give you the right excuse to sit out in the garden or make it an awkward squeeze that doesn’t inspire those magical family moments.
This guide will delve into the benefits of square, round, and corner dining sets to help you make an informed decision. It’s your ticket to creating an inviting atmosphere for your alfresco adventures.
What to Consider When Choosing Your Table
First and foremost, before browsing any tables, you should take a moment to weigh up what you need and desire from your table. Consider what you will be using the table for. Will you be using your set just for small gatherings, or will it be a multi-functional space for meals, work and home projects? In this case, a rectangular table could prove to be more versatile than a round table.
Conversational flow is another aspect you should consider, as each table shape controls how freely and where a conversation flows in its own way. Round tables are excellent for promoting conversation and social interaction, as everyone can see each other easily, whereas rectangular tables have certain dilemmas that make it harder for guests to interact, such as the opposite ends being relatively far away. It’s these small details that will come to define how your garden’s social activities will live and breathe.
The Practical Elegance of a Square Dining Set
Square or rectangular dining sets are staple choices for many, and it’s easy to see why. Tables like the Malo Dining Set offer a greater surface area, perfect for laying out a feast, and their clean lines lend a sophisticated air to your outdoor décor. Ideal for gatherings of more than four, rectangular tables can comfortably accommodate larger groups. You can marvel at how they can transform a simple garden into a refined dining area.
In a practical sense, the geometric precision of square and rectangular tables means they fit snugly into more linear spaces and, when not in use, chairs tuck neatly underneath, maintaining a tidy appearance. Due to their commonality in shape with most patios, these tables provide excellent modularity – you can even combine two tables to cater for unexpected guests – a handy feature for your next big social gathering. With a rectangular table, you get extra space for your width, allowing you more space to place down condiments, drinks, side plates and more.
However, square dining sets are perhaps a double-edged sword, as with fewer guests around, it can make the space feel cold and impersonal. This can be countered with a smaller square dining set or another option.
The Togetherness of a Round Dining Set
On the other end of the dining table spectrum, round and oval tables bring a softer, more welcoming feel to your garden. These shapes are psychologically soothing, putting everyone’s attention towards the centre and promoting feelings of friendship and togetherness – there’s a reason why round tables are favoured when playing games like poker.
The circular nature of tables such as the Cora 8-Seater Round table means they fit gracefully into smaller or uniquely shaped areas and allow for more chairs without the awkward jostling for space. And who doesn’t love the functionality of a lazy susan in the middle of a round table? No sharp corners mean safer navigation for both adults and children alike. But, this does come at the cost of having less surface area compared to their angular counterparts.
The Comfortable Versatility of a Corner Set
Perhaps the most laid-back option is the corner dining set. This set grants you a plush sofa feel while accommodating a good number of people without sacrificing space. These are perfect if you cherish long conversations in your garden. How wonderful is it to have a setup where everyone can join in a group chat or sit back and enjoy the view? Many of our corner sets are furnished with our adjustable High/Low tables that can transform from a dining table to a coffee table in seconds, making it effortless to observe the majesty of your garden unobstructed.
Which Dining Table Shape is Best For You?
It truly depends on your specific needs and space. If your patio area is on the smaller side, a round dining set might serve you best. For those with larger outdoor spaces, the options broaden – you might find a square or rectangular table more suitable.
At Kettler, we offer garden dining sets of all shapes and sizes, made with strong, weatherproof materials and thick, comfy cushions. We offer a myriad of designs that accentuate the beauty of your garden, making the urge to spend the best of times outside in your garden all the more tantalising.
Build Lasting Moments in Your Garden with Kettler
At Kettler, it’s been our mission since the 1960s to create outdoor furniture that sets the scenes for lifelong memories in your garden. This commitment still fuels us, and our team is here to help you find the perfect dining set for your outdoor space. If you have any questions, contact us today, and let’s make your outdoor gatherings unforgettable.

Summer is a season synonymous with the sizzle of sausages on the BBQ, the laughter of friends gathered in sun-drenched gardens, and the clink of ice cubes in refreshing beverages. But as you gear up to replace or acquire a new BBQ, you face a difficult choice to way up: gas or charcoal.
Your choice will reflect on what type of BBQ master you are. Do you revel in the sheer convenience and speed of a gas BBQ, or are you a purist drawn to the primal allure of a charcoal grill? By the end of this blog, you’ll have a clearer idea of which type of BBQ chef you are and which type of BBQ is right for you. We’ll take you through the benefits of gas and charcoal grilling, which is easier to use and which is more affordable so you have all the information you need to make an informed decision.
What are the Benefits of a Gas BBQ?
As we wrote in our Top Grilling & BBQ Tips blog, gas BBQs are the epitome of convenience. Cooking on a gas BBQ is, in essence, bringing the indoor cooking experience outside, turning your patio into an open-air oven space which allows you to feed the crowds quickly with its short warm-up time. A gas BBQ heats up in a mere 5 minutes and cools down just as fast, perfect for those spur-of-the-moment garden parties.
What are the Benefits of a Charcoal BBQ?
For those who swear by tradition, charcoal BBQs deliver that authentic, smoky flavour that’s simply unmatched. They are made for smoking foods, which require patience and constant attention, but deliver freshly-charred food that is twice as satisfying. You can see the results in the food produced by each BBQ; while gas BBQing creates succulent chicken, charcoal BBQing gives it an all-over browning that looks utterly divine.
Our charcoal BBQs lock in the moisture that is paramount to the smoked flavour. A smoky effect can also be created with our gas BBQs, but the superior heat retention a charcoal BBQ offers allows for a variety of cooking methods, specifically slow cooking under the fire which delivers almighty bouts of meaty flavour and charcoal texture.
Gas or Charcoal: Which BBQ is More User-Friendly?
Gas BBQs typically offer a user-friendly experience with their consistent, easily adjustable heat – perfect for grilling novices. Heat control with a charcoal BBQ is a challenge and it should be welcomed beforehand. Since you’re working with live fire, it can take a while to get going in the first place.
Be that as it may, charcoal BBQs have seen a resurgence, meaning that they have been developed to be more efficient, simple to use and quicker. For example, where other charcoal BBQs usually take half an hour to warm up, our charcoal BBQs from Everdure feature the Fast Flame Ignition System™ to cook in 10 minutes. The process has been made much more intuitively, with functions such as the ‘Push and Forget’ electronic control that turns the ignition off automatically once the charcoal has warmed up, as well as an electronically-controlled rotisserie.
Cleaning a gas BBQ is as straightforward as tidying up after using your oven—minimal fuss. Charcoal BBQs, however, do require a bit more elbow grease to clean, but with the right tools from our range of BBQ accessories, plus a Brillo Pad for scrubbing, you can render the leftover food, grease and ash a distant memory. Plus, with our range of premium BBQ covers which are tailor-made to fit each of our individual BBQ models, you won’t have to spare a thought about cleaning the outside of your BBQ whichever type you choose.
Cost of Gas BBQ vs. Charcoal BBQ
At Kettler, we offer budget-friendly gas BBQs that are more affordable than their charcoal counterparts, however, at Kettler, our Fusion Charcoal BBQ is a cost-effective alternative for those who desire the versatility of charcoal cooking for less.
Don’t underestimate the efficiency of a charcoal BBQ when it comes to heat retention. The blanket of naturally aspirated heat of a charcoal grill’s natural flame is not only cost-effective but also provides a rich, smoky flavour that’s hard to replicate.
How Do the Features Compare?
To give you a final roundup of the pros and cons of gas and charcoal BBQs, we’ve arranged lists for each below:
Gas BBQs:
Advantages
Cheaper to buy
Easier to clean
Simple to use
Electronic controls
5-minute warm-up
Disadvantages
Lacks smoky flavour
Higher running costs
Limited temperature range
Charcoal BBQs:
Advantages
Cheaper to run
Smokey flavour
More cooking options
Simple to use
Electronic controls
Disadvantages
Harder to clean
Takes time to get to the right temperature
Both types of BBQ have their advantages and disadvantages, and the question of which is better rests solely on your personal preferences and what you are willing to do to get the most out of your BBQ experience. However, with our range of BBQs, courtesy of Everdure by Michelin Star chef Heston Blumenthal, whichever model you choose will deliver unforgettable dishes cooked in the warmth of the summer sun.

Welcoming guests into your garden isn’t just about enjoying the outdoors. It’s about creating a seamless extension of your home where comfort and style meet under the open sky. Creating the right space for this is a delicate balancing act that involves anticipating how people will feel and what they will desire.
In this guide to transforming your backyard into an inviting lounge area for alfresco entertaining, we will look at how different furniture and activities can conjure different atmospheres, and how you can change this with the simple change of a layout or addition of furniture. With our guide, you can transform your garden into the ultimate destination for enjoying the indoors, outdoors.
Must-Haves for Lounging
Imagine crafting a cosy corner in your garden where friends and family can gather in comfort and enjoy each other’s company without the constraints of walls. Our range of garden furniture includes pieces designed for both style and practicality. Most of our garden furniture features outdoor cushions packed with thick 8cm foam and double-piped to retain their shape, perfect for endless summer nights. When not in use, these cushions can be easily stored away to protect them from the elements.
Our lounge sets include a matching table with these comfortable seats, creating a relaxed atmosphere centred around conversation and leisure. In contrast, our dining sets feature a higher table for serving snacks and drinks, making it the heart of the party. If you’re undecided, our versatile high/low tables can adjust from a lounge to a dining height, offering the best of both worlds. Additionally, our corner sets can accommodate up to seven people on the sofa, with room for more when you add matching benches and stools.
Layout is key to alfresco entertaining, as you need to create the right conditions with comfort and convenience. One popular layout is a lounge set flanked by a few side tables. This setup ensures guests have their drinks within easy reach and provides a dedicated space for essentials like bottles, openers, and cocktail ingredients. With a drinks table for a garden party, you ensure guests feel at ease, fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
There is no one, single perfect layout for your outdoor lounge area, but a plethora of layouts and some will suit your needs and desires better than others. So try out different layouts, and soon your garden will become the perfect haven for getting together with friends and family, basking in the warm glow of the sun and flanked by blue skies and green grass.
Possibilities for Outdoor Cooking
If you are planning on having guests around for the evening, then, you’ll need to offer them food that will captivate their tastebuds. But if you’re preparing food indoors, you won’t be able to entertain or cater for your guests as readily. What you need in this instance is an outdoor kitchen setup, which allows you to cook and entertain simultaneously without ever having to leave the party and, thanks to Kettler, it does not have to break the bank.
Our range includes BBQs and pizza ovens from the Everdure line by Michelin Star chef Heston Blumenthal and Danish brand Cozze respectively, giving you an assurance of quality that goes beyond the typical grill. Not just for pizzas, our pizza ovens are also perfect for grilling steaks, fish, and vegetables, providing the added allure of an open flame chamber. For more casual fare, our Plancha grills are ideal for grilling meats, eggs, and fish.
As for what to eat the food off of, paper plates and cutlery are not going to cut it. Don’t save your fine tableware for inside dining only. The beauty of alfresco dining is being able to enjoy the same experience of indoor dining complimented by the scenic backdrop. Try mixing and matching your favourite pieces of tableware to create a colourful and eclectic dining arrangement.
Options for Outdoor Shelter
So, you’ve taken care of seating and the food, and your guests are suitably comfortable and winding down from a great time spent in your garden. However, as we all know, the British weather can be fickle and unpredictable, capable of drenching your guests and furniture in a sudden downpour or leaving them chilly as the temperature drops. Happily, numerous outdoor pergolas are available to ensure your guests remain comfortable, and a plethora of outdoor heating options to counteract the evening chill.
As we’ve learnt from our Danish friends at Cozze, Scandinavian countries embrace outdoor dining even in the coldest of months. This is close to what they call “hygge”, which is a particular unpinnable level of comfort that contrasts with the harshness of winter, making you feel like you’re protected in your own little world. For more information on achieving hygge, read our guide to creating the feeling in your outdoor space.
Rather than huddling together like penguins, consider our outdoor heating equipment which offers warmth, light and style all at once, making for the perfect centrepiece for your alfresco experience. Available in various sizes and styles, including wall-mounted and free-standing options, these heaters can be seamlessly integrated into your patio setup. For a chic touch, consider our pendant heaters in sleek stainless steel or wicker, perfect for hanging over the centre table. Each product is crafted from durable materials designed to withstand harsh weather, ensuring they continue to provide warmth and comfort year after year.
For a more natural warmth, our guide to entertaining with fire pit tables offers insights on how to incorporate an open flame into your alfresco experience, enriching those chilly evenings with both warmth and ambient light. Not even the unpredictable British weather can hold you back from giving you and your guests the finest, most comforting and memorable alfresco experience.
And when the sun is back out, our range of panalsol pergolas gives your outdoor space a cutting-edge structure that puts a roof over your head. No longer will you need to shield your eyes with your hand all day; now, you can modulate sunlight with the adjustable winders, and at night, the LED lights create an atmosphere of being under the starry night sky even on the cloudiest of nights.
Create an Enriching Garden Space with Kettler
At Kettler, we strive to provide versatile and high-quality furniture that can be the catalyst for memories that will live on in family folklore and photo albums alike. Our commitment to quality has been the fire that lights us since the 1960s, and our team is dedicated to helping you choose the ideal garden furniture and accessories for you. Reach out to us with any questions, and let us help you make your outdoor space somewhere for those unforgettable moments.

Hosting a garden party over the bank holiday weekend isn’t just about showing off your garden space – it’s about creating those joyful social moments that cement themselves in the memories of your guests. It’s about community, enjoyment, and the simple pleasures of life shared under the open sky.
With the summer bank holidays just around the corner in the UK, these extended weekends provide a fabulous opportunity to connect with loved ones. That extra day off makes for a special long weekend where we can truly get together and celebrate.
But what to do when you’re hosting a party? How can you ensure that you’ve got the right atmosphere to create a special bank holiday celebration? It’s time to hang the bunting and see how you prepare for a day in the garden that will live long in the memory of you, your friends and family.
How to Organise a Summer Garden Party
Before diving into the particulars, it’s crucial to know the backbone of any successful garden gathering:
Furniture – Ensure there are ample seats and tables for all your guests.
Entertainment – Conversation is great, but a bank holiday get-together can come alive with an activity to base it around.
Food – A variety of delicious and easy-to-handle foods will keep guests happy.
Drink – Keep a selection of refreshments available to suit all tastes – soft drinks, juices, beers, wines, and maybe a signature cocktail.
Heating – As the evening cools, ensure your guests remain comfortable.
Having the Right Garden Furniture
With the warm sunshine above and lush greenery around, could there be a more perfect setting for a summer bank holiday party with your nearest and dearest than your own back garden? Whether you are hosting a small, intimate gathering or a grand soirée, the right garden furniture is crucial to setting the tone.
At the heart of our collection lies a balance between durability and elegance. Our lounge sets, with their plush, double-piped cushions, are more than just seating – they’re a promise of relaxation and longevity. 8cm thick yet discreetly stowed when not in use, these cushions invite you and your guests to linger over conversations without a glance at the clock. But what about when the party picks up tempo?
Enter our innovative adjustable high/low tables. Designed to adapt from serene afternoon tea settings to lively evening dining, these tables offer unmatched versatility. Imagine how much easier your hosting duties become when your furniture conforms to the day’s needs, rather than the other way around.
Arranging your garden for maximum enjoyment requires a bit more than placing furniture haphazardly. Imagine creating zones: a cosy corner with a lounge set for intimate chats, a dynamic dining area with high tables for spirited toasts, and perhaps a tranquil spot under a grand parasol for those seeking a moment of shade.
And for those unexpected guests or larger gatherings, our sleek, matching benches and stools ensure no one is ever without a seat. Integrating these neatly with the same aesthetic as the rest of the set allows you to craft moments and memories in a space that feels inherently yours.
Consider what your guests might leave behind at home – not everyone remembers to bring sunglasses to a garden party, right? This is where our sweeping, contemporary parasols offer what you need. Offering not just UV50+ protection but also a substantial coverage area, our parasols are as much a statement piece as they are a practical addition to your garden. Whether wind-up, wall-mounted, or free-arm, these parasols ensure your guests are comfortably shielded from the midday sun.
Outdoor Games for Entertainment
What’s a summer party without some playful competition? Consider grabbing a badminton set for vertical fun, or perhaps a giant Jenga tower that will test the dexterity and strategy of your guests.
Table tennis could be the way forward, as this quick and space-efficient game always goes down a hit. Our table tennis tables are regulation size and are topped with a 4mm melamine resin plate top which ensures a ball bounce that even professionals will be happy with.
Make it a main event to keep guests entertained while the food is being made. You could even stage a tournament that decides the all-important question: who is the true champion of good old-fashioned ping pong?
Make Culinary Delights Outdoors
There’s nothing quite like the subtle joy of grilling a perfect steak or even a few homemade snacks without having to step away from the conversation.
At Kettler, we stock the Everdure range of BBQs from multiple Michelin Star-winning chef Heston Blumenthal, and it comes in both gas and charcoal varieties. It features a Fast Flame Ignition System which gets your charcoal ready in just 10 minutes and includes a built-in rotisserie system for an authentic, high-quality rotisserie experience right in your garden, while the gas BBQs have multiple individually-controlled burners which allow you to set up many foods on the go at once.
For those smaller bites, a Cozze Plancha grill could be a game-changer. Quick to heat up, easy to manage, and perfect for searing everything from meat to veggies – it keeps the cooking casual but the flavours intense.
Keeping Spirits High with Beverages
Ensure your beverage game is as strong as your food menu. Stock up on a selection of beers, wines, and handcrafted cocktails. Thoughtfully placed side tables can keep drinks within easy reach without cluttering the main lounge area, maintaining a neat and inviting space. Too many drinks could lead to an accident, which isn’t ideal when you’re likely wanting to use the good glasses!
Our side tables compliment the height and width of our lounge sets to exact measurements so that they fit neatly into your setup without any gaps or loose ends, and are made from the same high-quality materials as the rest of the range with touches of finesse such as the glass top and adjustable footcaps in case you’re placing it on uneven ground
Provide Warmth to Extend the Festivities
Let’s face it, with Britain’s temperamental climate, a garden party could be moved indoors if you have not got the right facilities to keep your guests warm. However, envisage a setting where elegant garden heaters and a well-placed canopy shield you and your guests from a sudden chill or unexpected drizzle. It’s all about creating that snug, ‘hygge’-infused environment right in your own backyard.
How can this be achieved? With our diverse range of outdoor heating options that offer not just warmth, but also light and a stylish flair. Picture a sleek, stainless steel pendant heater, suspended gracefully above your centre table, or perhaps a free-standing heater, blending seamlessly into your garden decor. These aren’t just functional but are designed to be integral elements of your outdoor get-togethers.
Moreover, if you’re drawn to a more natural source of heat, why not consider integrating a fire pit table into your garden landscape? Our guide to entertaining with these charming additions offers invaluable insights into making the most of their warm glow and inviting flicker, perfect for those chillier evenings. Imagine not having to worry about the night’s darkness or a drop in temperature as you spend treasured time in a space where everyone is having a special time and bonding with each other.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling a BBQ gives you, where the aroma of grilled food fills the air, and the sound of sizzling meats ignites your appetite. However, lurking behind the anticipation of that first bite is the jeopardy of the unknown: Will your culinary creations char to a crisp or achieve that perfect, succulent finish? Happily, there are ways to ensure a great BBQ meal for friends and family, and by choosing to read this blog, you’re already a grill master in the making.
Read on to find out whether to choose between gas and charcoal, how to master the art of flavour and more charcoal and gas BBQ tips for beginners and experts alike.
Should You Use Gas or Charcoal BBQ?
When it comes to BBQ, the debate between gas and charcoal is as old as time. Each has its merits and its loyal followers.
Gas BBQs are the go-to for convenience and time. With individual control knobs for temperature regulation across the burners, creating different grilling zones becomes a breeze. Perfect for those who value precision and ease. Also, there is no waiting around for the charcoal to heat up, perfect for impromptu BBQs.
Charcoal BBQs, on the other hand, offer an authentic grilling experience with an unbeatable smoky taste. Our BBQs from Everdure feature automated touch controls that provide an electric ignition so the charcoal can start burning with the push of a button, as well as an electrically adjustable rotisserie, they bring tradition to your outdoor space.
Tips for Charcoal BBQs
Be mindful of the inherent nature of charcoal fires. The key to charcoal barbecuing is airflow. It is the lifeblood of your charcoal BBQ; the more air that flows in, the hotter your fire. Your grill dampers are critical for regulating its internal temperature. If you find your coals burning too quickly, adjust by partially closing the top vent. Conversely, ensure the bottom vent remains open during grilling to keep the fire alive. The airflow you have will depend on the type of food that you are cooking, so be sure to use your own culinary instincts.
For more tips and guides on the Everdure Charcoal BBQs, consult the official user guide.
Additionally, there are many accessories that can enhance your experience. Make the dispersing of coal stylish and more convenient with our accompanying Everdure coal scuttle, and to manage different cooking timings, use our accompanying warming rack which sits on the grill of your Everdure charcoal BBQ and keeps food warm without overcooking it.
Tips for Gas BBQs
Many of the tips in the Charcoal BBQ tips section above apply to gas BBQs as well. Having three separate burner areas in your Kettler gas BBQ allows you to fine-tune and cook multiple types of food at once, but it’s important not to overcrowd the grill so that each food item has room to breathe and cook evenly. This ensures that everything from your delicate fish fillets to robust vegetables receives the perfect amount of heat. Plus, doing this improves heat circulation, which is crucial for achieving those coveted grill marks and a uniformly cooked interior.
For further tips on cooking with the Everdure Gas BBQ, consult the Everdure YouTube channel and these videos.
How to Get the Perfect BBQ Taste
The signature smoky taste of BBQ is what we all aspire to make, but achieving this involves patience. Resist the temptation to flip over your food so often and just flip it once from one side to the other. With enough patience, your meat and fish will surrender to the grill and brown, or caramelise, as some call it.
Using marinades is a simple, versatile way to add bursts of flavour to meat, fish and vegetables. Prepare meat, fish and vegetables in marinade and store it in the fridge in the morning, and by the afternoon when the sun is shining, the flavours will have seeped and developed into every morsel of the food (be sure to leave it out for 20 minutes to lose the fridge’s chill). Season once cooked, and you’ve got that seared BBQ taste with a depth of flavour.
Understanding Direct Vs Indirect Heat
Mastering direct and indirect heating methods can significantly impact your grilling outcomes. Direct heat is perfect for smaller, tender pieces, while indirect heat suits larger cuts needing cooking times of 20 minutes or more.
When using direct heat, fat can drip onto the coals or burner and ignite it, causing flare-ups that can char your food. To combat this, keep the grill lid down as much as possible to limit oxygen and create a more oven-like environment for even cooking. Should you encounter flare-ups, don’t panic. Temporarily moving the food to an area of indirect heat can save your meal from burning.
To create indirect heat on a charcoal grill, arrange the coals to one side, creating a hot zone for direct heat and a cooler zone for indirect cooking. For gas grills, achieve this by turning on one set of burners to high and leaving the area under the food unlit.
Keeping Your BBQ Clean
Maintaining the cleanliness of your BBQ not only keeps your cooking hygienic but also makes sure your BBQ is as good as new, summer after summer.
Make it a routine to clean your BBQ after every use. This prevents the buildup of grease and food residues that can affect your grill’s performance and the taste of your food. Our multi-purpose cleaning brush is designed to reach the hardest spots and remove grime without damaging your grill, and our brush and pan set is perfect for collecting ash from charcoal BBQs, ensuring a clean base for your next grilling session.
It’s not just the inside but the outside of your BBQ, too. When not in use, covering your BBQ can protect it from the elements and reduce the amount of cleaning required. Kettler’s BBQ range includes tailormade covers that fit their models perfectly, offering protection against rain, dust, and sunlight. You can find these products and more in our BBQ accessories section.

Rattan and wicker furniture have been a major part of home and garden decor for over 50 years. It has been the basis for iconic pieces of furniture, such as the Peacock chair which has been in iconic photographs of famous faces from John F Kennedy and Katharine Hepburn to Diana Ross. Yet, despite its prominence, the nuances between rattan and wicker are not widely understood.
Wicker and rattan are terms frequently used interchangeably in the furniture world, yet they denote vastly different concepts. As we will explore further, rattan and wicker are a combination of material and technique that has resulted in a wide array of furniture that not only adapts to both indoor and outdoor settings but lasts for seasons to come.
As we delve into the realm of wicker and rattan, we look at the differences and similarities between wicker and rattan, and uncover the rich history of wicker weaving, from its ancient Egyptian origins to its resurgence in the mid-20th century. If you wish to find out about how to care for our rattan garden furniture or simply searching for ideas on how to use it in your home and garden, this is the blog for you. Discover more in our synthetic rattan furniture range, which offers the best qualities of the material in the form of sofas, tables, sunloungers, benches and more.
What is the Difference Between Wicker and Rattan?
When discussing furniture, “wicker” and “rattan” are often used interchangeably, when in actuality they refer to different aspects of the furniture. Wicker is a weaving technique that creates a lattice-like pattern, whereas rattan is a group of palm plant species from which we obtain material to create furniture. Rattan is often wickered to make furniture and baskets, but there are other wicker items made from materials other than rattan, including bamboo, reed and willow.
The History of Wicker Furniture
The first people that have been discovered to create wicker furniture were the ancient Egyptians, who made it from naturally growing grass and cane and stored pieces in tombs. Then, it was passed through the hands of history, from the Roman Empire to Colonial America. Even back then, wicker furniture was recommended by design experts for homeowners who wanted to bring summer into their homes or have seating that let the wind through its lattice for a cooling effect.
It wasn’t until the 1960s and 70s when wicker-woven furniture made a huge revival, sparked by visionaries such as Paul Frankl and Gabriella Crespi who reacted to the florid designs of Victorian furniture by blending ornate touches with natural and affordable materials. This helped to define the look of the modern home and helped rattan to remain an influential presence in the interior design world since. In the mid-2000s, synthetic wicker became popular as an alternative for its ability to open up more colour and texture options.
Natural vs. All-Weather Rattan
Traditional rattan made from natural plant materials was often seen as a strictly interior piece of furniture, but once synthetic rattan came to the fore, it allowed designers and homeowners to bring furniture into the garden area for the first time. The beauty of having rattan furniture outside is its versatility – whether you want a modern feel or a rustic look.
Synthetic rattan, used in Kettler furniture, is made to be weatherproof. Where previously furniture did not stand a chance against rain, snow, sunlight and fading, synthetic rattan gives you the all-natural appearance that drew Frankl and Crespi to the material, but bolstered by UV-resistant materials that will defend against the elements. You can further protect your rattan garden furniture with a tailormade Kettler protective cover.
Garden and Home Ideas to Try with Rattan Furniture
With rattan furniture, you have access to a plethora of ideas to decorate and build on your home or garden area. If you have a large family and enjoy eating outdoors, consider a cohesive dining set that brings together your garden patio design with a refined and relaxing centrepiece. Alternatively, if you wish to use the garden as a space to unwind and enjoy company, Kettler’s synthetic rattan lounge and corner sofa sets are a blend of comfort and stability, with double-piped cushions that are stuffed with a body-loosening 8cm foam core. Or, have the best of both worlds – at Kettler, we have height-adjustable rattan tables that can transform from dining sets to lounge sets, so you can convert in a matter of seconds to whatever setting you desire.
Wicker-woven furniture can take many forms and do many jobs. If you want to create a relaxed feel, garden benches and 3-seater sofas make an excellent alternative to chairs, and if you need extra seating in certain circumstances, a stool can be used for guest seating or a footstool to put your feet up. The lightweight nature of rattan makes it easy to rearrange the layout however you wish to have it on any given day.
For inside the home, rattan has qualities that make it suitable for conservatory furniture. Conservatory table and chair sets react well to the changing temperatures of the conservatory, ensuring that the furniture remains durable and comfortable without warping or deteriorating over time.
The best ideas come from pairing pieces of furniture together to add to your experience. Try a sumptuous rattan sunlounger with a side table so you can make the most of every blade of green grass while the sun is out, or pair a rattan fire pit table with matching gas bottle storage so you can enjoy your garden even when the sun goes down.
How to Care for Rattan Furniture
Synthetic rattan furniture is known for its durability and weatherproof qualities, but applying proper care ensures its longevity and maintains its appearance, making it a lasting addition to your home or garden. Here’s how you can keep your rattan furnishings in pristine condition:
Cleaning: Use warm soapy water to clean the furniture. For a more comprehensive care approach, consider the complete wicker & rattan care set available on the Kettler website.
Dusting: Regularly remove dust using a clean, soft brush. For surface cleaning, a clean damp cloth is effective.
Protection: Use pads, mats, and coasters under plates, glasses and cups to guard against scratches, spills, stains and heat damage. In the event of spills, wipe them away immediately to prevent staining.
Immediate Action: Tree sap and bird droppings can be particularly damaging if left untreated. Clean these off as soon as possible.
Covers: While synthetic wicker is robust, protective covers are recommended for most items to shield them when not in use.
To complement your rattan garden furniture, Kettler offers weatherproof cushions designed for outdoor use. Here’s how to care for them:
Storage: Cover cushions when not in use immediately after use. If exposed to rain, they can dry within 20 minutes to 2 hours, depending on conditions.
Winter Storage: Store in a dry, ambient temperature during the winter months to preserve their condition.
Cleaning: Sponge clean only. Kettler cushions are not suitable for dry cleaning or machine washing. For optimal care, use our fabric care kit, available on our website, to clean and protect your cushions.
By following these care instructions, you can ensure that your rattan furniture and accessories remain a beautiful part of your living space for years to come.

Conservatory furniture trends are slow-moving compared to fashion trends, but there is a shift occurring that is changing what conservatory furniture is en vogue and what is no longer chic. Recently, there’s been a pronounced move away from Instagram-ready conservatory furniture designed to make loud statements that feel like a stage set more than a home interior. People are now going back to natural, function-over-form furniture that creates a warm and earnest environment for the best of times.
With so many ideas for furniture design online, being able to tell what ideas will last for years to come is increasingly more difficult. If you’ve been scouring through Pinterest for conservatory furniture ideas with no luck, we’re here to help. From colours and shapes to furniture pieces and design inspirations, we’ve collated a rundown of the up-to-date ideas in modern conservatory furniture that will outlast trend cycles and age with timeless elegance.
Nature-Inspired Design
There was once a time when industrial looks were all the rage. However, while they produce eye-catching conservatories, it can make the atmosphere more intense than it needs to be. As such, we are now leaning back towards more welcoming designs with soft materials and natural finishes, and organic-looking designs are seeing increased popularity off the back of it.
Experimenting with natured-inspired (or biophilic, as they say in the design world) texture is great for bridging your home interior and garden, and adds depth, visual interest, and tactile appeal. Rattan is the perfect material to get this feel and is the material of choice for many who value lightweight furniture that’s easy to manoeuvre and reconfigure. They are ideal for lounge sets, and Kettler’s rattan furniture is hand-woven from synthetic rattan which is more weatherproof, so you can take the furniture outside and leave it there overnight if circumstances call for extra seating in the garden. Plus, it achieves that biophilic aesthetic that brings you closer to nature.
Earth Tone and Neutral Colour Palettes
Bouncing off of our sway towards nature-inspired design, earthy and more neutral tones have been adorning conservatory furniture to match the organic aesthetic. Shades of brown, beige and terracotta define this trend, and studies show that these colours inspire a sense of comfort and relaxation within the glass windows of your conservatory. There’s an eternal appeal to these more subdued hues, plus, from a practical design perspective, these colours are incredibly versatile, allowing you to have a centrepiece of a wide array of colours across the spectrum.
As well as white wash, Kettler conservatory furniture comes in a warm oyster colour with a taupe undertone which reveals itself in the sunlight. With our oyster-coloured furniture, you can have a fresh-feeling conservatory with a restrained but still noticeable cosiness (or as they say in Denmark, “Hygge”).
Multifunctional Furniture
Every square foot counts and people are starting to appreciate this, opting for more functionally elegant furniture that can be used for multiple purposes. The charm of multifunctional furniture lies not just in its aesthetic appeal but in its ability to eliminate unnecessary furniture – why have two tables when one will do?
Imagine the ease with which Kettler’s lounge sets adapt to your life’s rhythm, featuring options that include a height-adjustable high/low table. This ingenious design can change from being a casual coffee table to a formal dining table with ease, making it an absolute must-have for a modern conservatory.
More Social Furniture
In the years since the global pandemic and ensuing lockdown, we’ve all come to appreciate the social opportunities that a conservatory can bring. It’s why many are choosing to create spaces that encourage togetherness, where the design facilitates conversation and interaction. Moving beyond the conventional arrangement of chairs flanking a coffee table and envisaging more inclusive seating options that invite engagement and warmth.
The most expansive of our lounge sets can seat up to seven people, and if you need more, there are matching benches and stools that can slot into the aesthetic naturally. Our extensive range of lounge sets is designed with sociability in mind, with our largest sets able to seat up to seven guests. For those occasions that call for a bit more room, there are matching benches and stools that can slot into the aesthetic naturally, ensuring your living space remains coherent and aesthetically pleasing.
Corners For Comfort
Curved furniture has seen an uptick in the past few years, but there’s already a revolt against it. While curved furniture often symbolises relaxation and an open invitation, straight lines and direct corners possess their own understated charm. Moreover, furniture with direct angles is far more spatially efficient, making it an ideal choice for those looking to make the most out of their living areas.

In the heart of every garden, there lies a potential for creating unforgettable memories, and nothing sets the mood quite like a central focal point that draws people together. There’s nothing like gathering around a fire that can set the scene for special family moments, deep conversation in friendly catch-ups or a moment of tranquillity amidst the chaos that home life can throw at you.
Kettler’s fire pits offer a unique twist – providing heat and serving as a mesmerising visual centrepiece that transforms your garden into a little slice of heaven. This blog explores the multifaceted world of cooking and entertaining with fire pit tables, from the basics of lighting a Kettler fire pit and using it as an outdoor barbecue to creating themed fire pit parties and accessorising your fire pit table. Through stories from our customers, we’ll delve into how these fire pits become the right mood-setter in your garden and can make all the difference in crafting lasting memories.
How to Light a Kettler Fire Pit
With our fire pits, you don’t need to worry about kindling, firewood or maintaining a fire when it starts to wane. It’s all powered through a gas bottle,
To light a Kettler fire pit, first remove the protective cover and ensure your floor or decking is safe and stable. Then, press the control button fully until you hear a slight ticking sound, and hold the control knob pushed in as you open the gas supply. Turn the control knob to the right for the gas supply, and within 15 seconds, your fire spit should ignite in all its glory.
For more detailed instructions on how to attach the gas holder to the fire pit, consult your model’s instruction manual which can be found on the product page.
Themed Fire Pit Parties
There are countless special occasions throughout the year that offer the perfect opportunity to gather around the warmth of a fire pit. Because of its unique ability to keep the fire going protected by a glass cage, you can have a fire pit party at virtually any time of the year. Hold a summer barbecue bash with all the fixings, and have the fire pit as a section for the adults to mingle with cocktails while the kids play in the garden. Or, how about a winter warmer party with some hot chocolate or mulled wine which would go down immaculately? This winter party requires a lot less food to prepare compared to a barbecue, but don’t forget to have blankets at the ready!
With this in mind, food is one of the best ways to get people around, so what about a wine or cheese-tasting party for a night of indulgence and quality catch-up? Plus, this can be a lowkey event with little clean-up afterwards and if there are any leftovers, the rest of your week will be all the sweeter.
Imagine Fridays spent taking the pressure of the week off your shoulders with an ice bucket of champagne sitting beside the fire, nestled in the clutches of your lounge set. Or spending long summer evenings sitting under a canopy enjoying that rare hit of perfect weather, feeling like you’re on holiday in your very back garden. A fire pit table is for those extra special impromptu moments.
Finally, for those with a significant other, a Valentine’s Day night where a fire pit can be kindling for romance. Best of all, all it requires is a few of your favourite indulgences. It’s almost a storybook setting for some much-needed time together.
Accessorising Your Fire Pit Table
As well as the special occasions that can be centred around its mood-setting blaze, another benefit of fire pit tables is how you can enhance the experience with accessories for your garden space.
Extra seating makes space for even larger gatherings and allows more of your friends and family to enjoy your gorgeous fire pit. Our corner sofa sets are designed to circle around the table neatly and can allow you to match its design and make your space more cohesive and harmonious. Or, if you need to expand by one or two seats, our benches and stools are ideal for extra guests or the little ones.
Why not have a stylish shield from the sun with a parasol? Many of our parasol models include LED lights to have more mood lighting at night, and a secluded wireless speaker so you can soundtrack get-togethers with your favourite playlist. However, it is important that you do not place the parasol over an open flame. Make sure that the fire pit table is turned off before dismantling or closing your parasol.
Finally, no one wants to have their gas bottle take away the beauty of your garden, which is why the convenience of a gas bottle storage space cannot be understated. This clever solution is perfect for keeping the gas bottle for your fire pit out of sight when in use, allowing you to enjoy the ambience of your fire pit without any unsightly distractions.
Create Memories with a Kettler Fire Pit Table
At Kettler, our fire pit tables offer more than just a practical and convenient source of heat and light for your outdoor area, but a beautiful centrepiece that frames the best of times in a warm glow. Browse our collection online today, or contact us for more information.

So, you’ve unboxed your brand-new Cozze pizza oven. Or perhaps you’ve been using yours for some time and wish to experiment with your oven. Are you wondering where to start or how to make the most out of your new Cozze pizza oven?
Imagine the hottest day of summer, your garden buzzing with the laughter and chatter of friends and family, all gathered around as you slide a perfectly-topped pizza into your Cozze pizza oven. The aroma of melting cheese and sizzling toppings fills the air, promising a feast that turns this gathering into an unforgettable celebration of food, fun, and shared moments. With this guide, you’ll be equipped to make that vivid scene a reality, mastering the art of pizza making and becoming the heart of every outdoor gathering.
Learning Its Features
Your Cozze Pizza Oven has everything you need to have a gateway to culinary exploration. Some models boast a digital heat management system, courtesy of an integrated thermometer, ensuring your oven reaches and maintains the perfect pizza-baking temperature. The oven comes equipped with a solid LFGB-approved cordierite pizza stone, renowned for its heat retention and distribution qualities once warmed up, promising that golden crust we all crave. Plus, your pizza oven also has a pizza door to moderate the oven’s internal flames and keep the heat consistent for your baking masterpiece. Leverage its precise heat management, superior stone quality, and effective door design, and you’ll be able to elevate your pizza-baking skills.
Cooking with the Cozze Electric Pizza Oven
To kickstart your pizza journey, let’s talk about using the electric version of the Cozze Pizza Oven. Here’s how to make the magic happen:
Preparation: Position the pizza oven and stone correctly. Plug it in and warm it up to between 350°C and 400°C by pushing the control button and then turning it clockwise. The Cozze infrared thermometer is your best friend for pinpoint accuracy on stone temperature. Remember, the stone takes a bit longer to heat, about 20 minutes, to be precise. Be mindful of the elements; a windy day can influence heating times.
Baking: Once preheated, slide your pizza onto the stone with a paddle. Don’t fiddle with the temperature; just let it do its thing. After 40 seconds, give your pizza a quarter turn for an even bake. Repeat until your pizza is crisp and the cheese has melted.
Enjoyment: After a few rotations, your pizza is ready to exit the oven. Let it cool just a tad before slicing and diving into the flavours with your loved ones.
Cooking with the Cozze Gas Pizza Oven
For those who prefer the classic feel of cooking with gas, the procedure is very similar to that of the electric variant. Here are the differences in the cooking process to master the gas-powered Cozze:
Setup: Ensure a 50 cm clearance around the oven for safety. Avoid overhangs and flammable materials.
Ignition: Connect to a gas bottle, set it to the highest temperature, and let it heat for about 20 minutes.
Baking: Once hot, lower the heat to medium when the pizza goes in to prevent burning. Rotate every 30 seconds until perfection is achieved. Like its electric sibling, the gas oven emphasises the necessity of a blazing hot environment for that perfect pizza outcome.
Cleaning Your Pizza Oven
After the feast, a little tidying up ensures your oven is always ready for the next round. Here’s a quick cleanup guide:
Exterior: A soft cloth, mild detergent, or baking soda solution does the trick. Rinse well after.
Interior: “Burning off” the oven by keeping the heat on high for about 15 minutes post-use minimises residue. A monthly deep clean extends the oven’s lifespan.
Pizza Stone: Brush off leftovers with the Cozze wire brush. If needed, rinse with water but dry thoroughly before the next use.
Using Extra Tools and Accessories
The secret to pizza perfection lies in the tools, and the Cozze range of pizza oven accessories has a bounty of extras that will take your pizza oven game to the next level. A pizza paddle, especially one with holes, reduces mess and enhances crust crispiness. However, paddles without holes are more suited to thicker-crust pizza, as their solid surface provides the uniform heat distribution required in deep-dish varieties. Meanwhile, a rotary peel can be a game-changer for manoeuvring your pizza, ensuring an evenly cooked masterpiece every time.
Lastly, a stainless steel grill brush keeps your oven pristine. Made of stainless steel, this brush is designed to help get the tough bits of dirt, burnt-on food and grease off and leave it as good as new. Its T-shape is perfect for cleaning in between the grill. Just be sure to use the grill brush with light pressure to avoid scratches on the grill rack.
Unleashing Your Pizza Creativity
Unlocking the full potential of your Cozze pizza oven involves more than just mastering the basics. It’s about embarking on a culinary adventure that pushes the boundaries of traditional pizza making.
Firstly, it’s important to realise that the greatest quality of pizza is that you can put just about anything on it. It’s an infinite canvas for your culinary creation, and your Cozze pizza oven is the tool that brings these ideas to life, allowing you to explore an endless array of combinations. Use ingredients from your pantry or fridge to craft something unique. Even if the outcome isn’t exactly what you expected, each attempt is a step forward in your pizza-making journey.
The Low & Slow Technique
One technique that works great in a pizza oven is the “low & slow” method of cooking which produces thin, crispy New York-style pizza that melts in your mouth. Here is how to do it:
Create a Thin Base: Start with rolling or stretching your dough to get that thin, iconic New York-style base. The goal is to keep it even and thin but strong enough to hold your chosen toppings.
Preheat and Prepare: As with any pizza, preheat your Cozze oven on high for about 20 minutes. This step is crucial for achieving the right cooking environment for your pizza.
Cooking with Residual Heat: When it’s time to cook, place your pizza inside but turn off the heat. Remove the pizza door to allow some airflow. This technique relies on the residual heat retained by the pizza stone and the oven’s interior to cook the pizza gently, ensuring the base becomes crispy without overcooking the toppings.
The Final Burst: Once your pizza has puffed up and taken on some colour—indicative of a crispy base—reignite the heat for a brief moment. This final burst of high temperature ensures the toppings are perfectly baked, melding flavours together and achieving that ideal finish.
This is just one way of embracing different ideas on how to make a perfect pizza. Don’t hesitate to try new things, mix up your techniques, and see where your culinary imagination can take you. Who knows? Your next pizza could be the talk of your next social event.
